It is hard to convey what youve never had. I didnt realize how much of a difference this monitor would make because Id never had such a good monitor. The colors are deep, the picture is accurate, there is no ghosting or even a hint of it - its just so smooth. And I had a really good Dell ultrasharp for gaming. I also didnt realize how much I would like 1440 gaming. Or the high refresh rate. EVERY game I have looks like new. Its just wonderful. You cant go wrong with this one.

No problems / No flickering. I purchased two of these monitors. Both work great. To those complaining about the advertised refresh rate, make sure your Pc/Xbox/PlayStation/ display supports it. Works good on my pc.

Received monitor in a timely fashion, but it doesnt work as advertised. Claims to work at 144hz refresh rate, but glitches out with green/white/blue lines across the screen when running at 144hz. The screen will also go blank for as little as 3 seconds to up to 30 seconds making games unplayable when it occurs. When switching down to 120hz cap on refresh rate, monitor works fine, but that isnt what I purchased the screen for. Wanted to get a replacement through Amazon but they refused to give me a replacement, only offered to refund me which I did not want a refund since I got the monitor on a discounted deal. Now I am trying to get LG to repair the monitor but they arent capable of sending a shipping label to my email when they say I should be receiving it. I am now on my third attempt trying to get a repair shipping label from LG since they said they cannot send them immediately, it should be sent by the end of the day. Worst experience with both Amazon and LG ever. Would not recommend either since neither are willing to replace the monitor. Update: Was able to send the unit for repair through the LG website. This has been the worst experience I have ever had to deal with. First it took 5 attempts to get their support staff to send an email with the shipping label which took over a week of back and forth them telling me to wait and then me complaining that it shouldnt be this difficult to send me a shipping label. Though the repair took about 1 week after the allotted shipping time which was quick. The downside was the unit was not fixed at all, it still had the same issue where it would get a line glitching across the screen and then goes blank for up to 30 seconds. So now the day I got it back I am now being asked to wait for another shipping label for them to repair my unit again, this time I asked for a new unit as replacement but they refused since they demand I have to send it in at least 3 times for repair before that can be an option. LG make terrible products and I will actively tell others to avoid their garbage products and support. Update 2: Just received the monitor from repairs from LG, they sent it without the power cable and am now waiting to hear back about what they can do for me. Cant even test the monitor if it has been properly fixed until I get a new power cable. Very disappointing and extremely frustrating experience dealing with their support services for repairs.

I desperately needed to upgrade my old monitor, so I went for this one after reading about it in an article. Its the size of small TV which took some getting used to, but I have grown to really like it - just make sure to adjust your display settings if youre coming from a smaller monitor to this one. The picture is clear - you can really see the detail in what youre doing. I havent tried to speaker option on it and dont plan to, so I cant comment on the quality there. Turning it on and off is a bit of a hassle as it has a little joystick underneath it versus a physical button. My biggest problem is that I can see more of the backlight on the right side of the screen when your picture is dark. The other thing to note is that it slowed down my last PC when I got it too. I was in the process of upgrading to a much fancier and better gaming PC so that was a temporary issue, but if youre using a basic, cheaper PC, you may run into problems.

Pros: -144hz -Minimal backlight bleed -OSD easy to use -Comes with display port cable and HDMI cable -extremely easy to setup -stock calibration is decent, only had to modify a few settings. Cons: The stand sits too high at lowest adjustment, so I had to modify my desk to clear. Highest point is roughly 18 3/4 to clear. My calibration on Game 1 Preset: Brightness - 25 Contrast - 70 Sharpness - Default 50 Gamma - mode 2 Color temp - Custom - R58/G49/B48 Adaptive sync - On Black Stabilizer - Default 50 Response time - Fast Aspect ratio - Full Wide Energy Saving - Off Standby - Off All settings at aspect ratio and below optional, I opted to turn the energy stuff off. I Absolutely love this monitor. I first was gonna get the 850 but its been running low on stock for a while now, settled with this variant instead. Just setup today and played a bit of Rainbow six at 144hz and it was perfect. This is the sRGB version of the 27GL850, it also registers on my computer as the 27GL850. If youre stressed for cash and wanna save a bit of money, this one will do fine. Colors look great without the wide range color gamut, and from reading it should mainly be applicable to HDR gaming/photo editing anyways, which the 850 doesnt do a great job at as is. I dont plan on using HDR either. All in all this thing came perfect with no bad pixels, and the backlight looks good. This monitor should have a slightly higher contrast ratio than the 850 (1000:1 while the 850 is around 800:1). I highly recommend this as a viable cheaper option to the 850. If purchasing this with limited vertical space look for a gas shock vesa mount to lower it further or modify your desk for 18 3/4 of vertical clearance. The only difference according to specs is the nano ips panel on the 850, which seems like it has more to do with the color range.

I bought this monitor for both remote work and gaming about six months ago and its been a significant upgrade from my old Dell U2711, which is now my second monitor. The feature set is good for the price and Ive recommended this monitor to others who are looking for an upgrade for their gaming rig. Pros: - Good picture with low ghosting at high refresh frame rates, when driven from an NVIDIA card in G-SYNC Compatible mode at 144Hz over DisplayPort. The monitor has a setting to control the response time vs. ringing tradeoff, and also shows in the OSD the current frame rates being received from the video card. - Supports HDR video input. - Control panel is fast and responds immediately to joystick controls, unlike some other monitors Ive used that have annoying delays in the menu controls. This includes fast input switching, which I do a lot from having two computers hooked to it. - Runs cool, can barely feel any heat emitted. - No problems taking off the default stand and mounting on a standard VESA monitor arm. Cons: - Some backlight bleed in the lower-left corner, though Ive gotten used to it. From what Ive heard, this can vary significantly from unit to unit. - Really poor sound quality, which sounds like loud bursts of noise when listening to music. Its noticeably worse than any other audio output I have, including the U2711, laptop headphone jack, or USB-C dock, driving it over DisplayPort or HDMI, and with either an NVIDIA or Intel graphics card output. Couldnt figure it out until I played a sine wave sweep in Audacity and heard blatant aliasing around 6KHz. Do not get this monitor if you care about quality from the audio output. - HDR over HDMI from a GTX 1650 Super on Windows 10 was distorted (compressed), though DisplayPort input was fine. Its also not very good at HDR in general, but its useful if you just need to be able to test or experiment with HDR and dont care much about HDR image quality. Additional gotchas: - It has a lot of picture settings that are poorly documented with not necessarily good defaults and can produce a bad quality image. For instance, theres no indication of what Gamma 1 through 4 correspond to. Before gauging the picture quality, reset the Black Stabilizer to 50, double-check against some calibration images, and try the sRGB preset. Fixing this really improved the picture quality. - The monitor can take a 4K (3840x2160) signal and advertises that it can do so over HDMI, even though the panel is only 2560x1440. This can cause Windows to send it a 4K signal even though the resolution is set to 2560x1440, resulting in a blurry image. It can take some fiddling with Windows display and graphics drivers settings to fix this (active signal resolution = 2560x1440 in Settings).
