The kit worked. I could have gotten by with only the gear- this is the second opener Ive done and it, too, only needed the gear which can be purchased separately. At least for me, this style of opener seems to last forever with occasional adjustments and redoing the remote pairing, so its definitely worth repairing.

I cant believe this kit actually worked. The whole gear-assembly on my opener shredded - metal shavings everywhere, so it was probably breaking down for quite a while. Be advised that the kit is pretty hard-core, you disassemble everything and replace all the gears and put axle grease on everything. But as long as you follow the directions, and mark everything (wires, pcb boards, etc) as you take it apart, so you can put it back the same way, it will work just fine.

I ordered this kit Friday night and had it by Sunday morning. It comes with more parts than I needed, but Ill be keeping them in case another part fails in the future. The quality seems to be as good as the original which lasted 10+ years. I already had the old part removed and it took about an hour to install the new one and get the chain reconnected. I couldnt be happier now that my garage door works again.

Easy to install and very pleased

For a little time and work this saved me from buying a new opener. Instructions in the kit were good and the parts fit my opener perfectly.
