The chain sprocket on my opener broke and I was going to buy a new garage door opener costing about $250.00. Started looking online and ended up going to YouTube and I found a lot of videos of how to repair my opener. It was easy to install but getting up & down adjustments took some time, probably about 4 hrs total. You might be able to do it faster, I struggled with the up & down home positions.

Good price and product , I did not install the worm gear based on comments on web this ususally doesnt wear out. Mine looked fine and decided to take my chances since it seems a bit more involved to disassemble the worm gear. I would have purchased the wide gear alone but was not sure how easy it would be to punch through the pin that holds it in. There is a utube video showing how. I tried it later on my old sprocket and was able to do it. I also greased up my hinges pully and chain. Ive neglected doing that for too long and it was causing the door to not run smoothly. Now it runs great. The top bracket is not pre threaded and had to use small ratchet to tap in the screws.

My garage door opener dropped the chain one morning when trying to leave. I thought for sure I’d need a whole new opener. Did some shopping around and didn’t want to pay $150-$200 for a new opener. Did some research and found this part. I wasn’t sure if other damage occurred to the opener, but we tried this anyway. Replaced the sprocket and gear worm. Took maybe 2 hours but the door is working perfectly!!! Yay!

Ive used these kits to replace all 3 of my LiftMaster garage door openers. They are perfect replacement parts, very inexpensive and just about anyone can do the replacement, with a few hand tools and reading the installation instructions.
