> 3 dayThese plugs worked fine for a while, then they did a firmware update and they no longer work correctly, they will still turn on and off but the status on my Echo 10 always reads off no matter if the plug is on or off the status never changes, I am about ready to pack them all up and send them back to Amazon,.just as a side note I bought two more of there plugs with a different firmware and those two work fine, I am also running the latest firmware on the plugs that don’t work I just updated a couple days ago, they seem to work fine on Apple home kit but if you use Alexa your probably goi g to have a problem, at least I did, and yes I did reset the plugs it didn’t help

> 3 dayInstallation/activation is a breeze. And for the week that they worked like they should, these plugs were amazing. I specifically bought them so I could turn in the lights as soon as I hit my wi-fi because my apartment has no ceiling light and the closest switch/outlet is all the way across the living room, which means I would be maneuvering my way around in the dark. Like I said, for the week that they worked it was great to open the door and have light in my apartment. I also used one for the Christmas tree, which is the first one that failed. After a week, it showed “no response”. I reset it and added it once again to the HomeKit app. Worked for 2 days and once I got “no response”. Reset, added it and worked for 1 day. I’ve been unable to reset it and added to the app ever since. It constantly says “unavailable”. Then the other plug stopped working and said “no response”. I reset it and when I tried to added it again it said that device was already added. Took 3 resets for it to take. It has continued to do the same thing and now, a month later, it is also in “unavailable” status and I can’t reset and added it back. I’ve tried all sorts of tricks and tips I’ve found online for these but nothing has worked. Good thing I can still return them.

Greater than one week15+ months review - Customer support was responsive and tried updating the firmware to test a possible fix which unfortunately did not solve the issue. All connectivity issues disappeared after adding all Meross devices to a separate 2.4Ghz WIFI network, everything is working as expected now via the Meross app and the Homekit app. Zero glitches for over 6+ months. Updating my rating from 1 to 5 stars. 2+ months review - These smart plugs are a few feet away from the wireless modem yet they keep getting disconnected at random. When online they are not consistently detected by HomeKit. Disappointing results, I would return them if I could.

> 3 dayI bought this to automate the lamp in my entry way. The price is low enough to be comfortable experimenting and not have lofty expectations. Setup was fairly easy between the brand’s app and the HomeKit QR codes. The second plug took a couple tries to pair but eventually worked. Now I have some iOS shortcut buttons (that I programmed) on my Home Screen for the lamps, Siri activation, and an automation that turns on the lamp when I arrive home after sunset and NOT when my partner is already home. Perfect.

> 3 dayI have a SAMSUNG SMART THINGS mesh network. These timers require first being set up in a meros account, and then linked to SMART THINGS. They worked fine until the first time we had a power hit/outage. Ive never been able to connect them again. I can hear them click, and then default to on. I cannot add them to the network, even though they had been named and paired. I reset the timers to factory default, and reinstalled with new names. Same issue. A wasted $50. Going forward I will only buy SAMSUNG SMART THING devices.

> 3 dayI have several smart bulbs, but wanted to give plugs a try for other things — like holiday lights, etc … They work great. Setup via HomeKit was seamless. Solid addition to our evolving smart home.

> 3 dayI purchased a 2 pack in November 2021. One of the devices stopped working within the 1 year warranty period. Contacted Meross support and they replaced it right away.

> 3 dayI setup home automation systems for residences part time. Most setups use Alexa/Google for automation but the latest was an exclusive Apple Homekit setup. If you’re also looking to hop onto the Homekit bandwagon and eyeballing these Meross outlets as the lowest-cost option, read on. First, setting up the Meross outlet and bulbs was more of a process than competitors, like Feit and Philips. For a few devices, the setup failed initially, requiring resets (which can burn 3-10 minutes each time). After a few failed attempts, we got all Meross devices operational. 12 hours later, the Home app indicated “no response” for one of the outlets. Resetting icloud, phone, hub, etc, did not fix the problem. The outlet was once working perfectly but is now non-functional. In the router settings, we could see that the device was still connected to the 2.4Ghz wi-fi network, so something was very fishy. We went ahead and did a clean reset of all devices at this point. Then, 12 hours later, a different Meross outlet stopped working! After a few days of whack-a-mole device resets, user testing, and researching forums, we figured out the issue. The customer was using a Netgear Orbi mesh router system which uses both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and forces a single network name (SSID) for both bands. Because the Meross devices work exclusively on 2.4Ghz networks, it gets “confused” when it sees a 5Ghz network with the same name. We spent a week experimenting with different router settings to ensure the devices remained on the 2.4Ghz band with no luck. Also, don’t bother searching for solutions to root into the router and set a different SSID – you’ll corrupt your router settings, requiring a router reset as well! If you have a Netgear Orbi router, Meross Homekit-approved products simply won’t work. I ended up getting the customer a new, high powered router to replace the mesh system – one that allows the setup of separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. Viola – zero issues with all Meross devices for the past several days. While these Meross devices are technically working as designed now, I have to give 1 star because all competitor bulbs (Feit, Voc, Nanoleaf, Philips, Sylvania) do not have this problem and can seamlessly work on single-SSID mesh networks with no issues. These bulbs should work properly in all modern wi-fi setups and, if not, the manufacturer should go out if its way to indicate the incompatibilities.

> 3 dayEasy to set up with the Apple Home app, does not need the Meross app. I’m careful about data leaking out so I won’t allow a manufacturer app for setup or operation. But these smart plugs work just fine with Apple’s Home app for setup and Siri for commands.
