Greater than one weekSimple, works, supports a clicker/toggle button on the left-side to turn on/off manually. Light indicating on/off can be enabled/disabled (ie: usually green==on, off==off, but you can turn off the light all the indicator light all the time w/o putting a piece of tape over it). Updates are semi-frequent (Im describing the iOS / Apple / HomeKit experience), but theyre a little difficult to successfully manage. #1 updates have to be run by a secondary (junky) app, otherwise homekit complains of out of date firmware notification #2 the app for updating doesnt match the iOS / HomeKit naming (its always: Plug, Plug, Plug, Plug, etc...) so if you have a single plug which hasnt updated its kindof tricky to figure out which one it is for troubleshooting (pro-tip: turn off all the lights/outlets, then turn them on one, by one, switch over to the app, and rename the only outlet which is turned on). #3 the app is kindof gross. Its got coupons and probably spyware and what not. From a HomeKit perspective, the app is _necessary_ b/c of the updates it provides, but not well integrated. On the plus side, theyre really affordable, and Ive been super happy to have them. My suggestion is to pair this with 1-2 `Eve` brand outlets which support usage monitoring. 1) Pick the target device (lamp, xbox, fan, whatever). 2) Run it for a few weeks w/ the better Eve outlet with usage monitoring. See about how much it costs to run that device per day/week/month, etc. 3) Switch it over to a cheaper Meross plug, and then keep in mind about how much it costs 4) Repeat with your next device... 5) 100% buy these Meross plugs for anything which you can turn off easier and will pay for itself. For me, Im able to physically power-down my X-Box overnight w/ one of these plugs, which saves ~$2-5/month compared to accidentally leaving it on overnight. That means these plugs pay themselves off in 2-3 months... BUT you need a usage-monitoring plug in order to figure out where it makes the most sense to have app-control. Im unaware of the vampire-load of each of these plugs, but that info is probably in another review or answered question. Summary: - Theyre easy to set up - They work well with HomeKit - Theyre mostly OK to keep up to date - The app isnt great (but you dont need to use it often) - Theyre simple and Ive been very happy theyre cheap enough to put them in a bunch of places!

> 3 dayI cannot for the life of me get these to join my Home app (iOS). I have an eero mesh network and Ive followed every walkthrough I can find (mostly around disabling 5G temporarily) to no avail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They came highly rated and maybe its just me.

> 3 dayThe switch turns on and off as expected with the proprietary Meross app and allows you to remotely control outlets away from home without using the full HomeKit integration. But the biggest issue is the automated schedule that you set through the Meross app doesn’t always turn on or off the plug at the programmed times if it loses the Wi-Fi connection. If it’s on an programmed schedule, one should think it would be set to and stored on the smart plug itself so it would no longer need a wifi connection. Not sure if this is the definite cause, but it routinely misses programmed on or off times and a bit of a deal breaker for some applications

> 3 dayI bought these as a pack of 2. Really simple to set up. The 2nd one wouldn’t stay paired. It would work for a day or two then stop. I was using it to put behind my China cabinet & control my Christmas tree lights. You can imagine how frustrating it was to try & keep moving my China cabinet out to reset it! Then I trying to pair it for my son to use in the TV in his room. Could even hit it to pair

Greater than one weekWhen I attempted to install the device, SmartThings needed my login to the app. I stopped at this point because I dont want to install an app to get thus connected to SmartThings

> 3 dayI’ve been using these for about 3 months now to control my exterior patio lights. They started out great with easy setup and fast connection via HomeKit. They stayed connected well until the temperatures here in Minnesota started dropping below freezing. To be fair, the description does say these are only rated for use above 32F… but I have multiple other smart accessories (plugs, bulbs, doorbell, cameras, etc) from more well known brands that have had the same (or worse) exposure to the cold and are still operating just fine. Additionally, updating these plugs is kinda wonky and buggy in my experience.

Greater than one weekAdded very easy to HomeKit and works just as good as my wemo ones. No need to pay for the name when they do the same thing.

08-06-2025Installation/activation is a breeze. And for the week that they worked like they should, these plugs were amazing. I specifically bought them so I could turn in the lights as soon as I hit my wi-fi because my apartment has no ceiling light and the closest switch/outlet is all the way across the living room, which means I would be maneuvering my way around in the dark. Like I said, for the week that they worked it was great to open the door and have light in my apartment. I also used one for the Christmas tree, which is the first one that failed. After a week, it showed “no response”. I reset it and added it once again to the HomeKit app. Worked for 2 days and once I got “no response”. Reset, added it and worked for 1 day. I’ve been unable to reset it and added to the app ever since. It constantly says “unavailable”. Then the other plug stopped working and said “no response”. I reset it and when I tried to added it again it said that device was already added. Took 3 resets for it to take. It has continued to do the same thing and now, a month later, it is also in “unavailable” status and I can’t reset and added it back. I’ve tried all sorts of tricks and tips I’ve found online for these but nothing has worked. Good thing I can still return them.

> 3 dayAn easy to use, inexpensive way to get started with HomeKit. This little smart plug is easy to set up on iOS: Launch the Home app, click the +, choose Add Accessory and scan the barcode. Ensure the smart plug is plugged in and it should show up, ready to give it a name and icon and start turning your item on and off. I purchased the two pack to control a lamp in my office and one in my wifes sewing room. Once it is set up in the Home app, you can use Siri to control it or create Apple Shortcuts for more advance automation. I named mine Office Lamp, and I can just use my watch or phone and say turn on my office lamp, etc. You can do a lot more with automations and shortcuts. I would recommend these to someone getting into home automation. I liked these so much I ordered another 2-pack.

06-06-2025I use Apple HomeKit as my hub, so the selection of supported devices is somewhat limited (although appears to be getting better). For Smart Plugs, I have been using Koogeek: -- I have used them for years -- I have about 10 of them I needed a few more Smart Plugs, and I was happy to see some relatively cheap options. After reading the reviews, I decided to try the Meross Smart Plug Mini. I am not disappointed. -- The price was pretty good at about $12 apiece. -- The plugs are well-built and straightforward. -- The form factor of the plugs is good. They do not cover up neighboring outlets. -- Installation was simple once I read the directions. A couple of tips: a) Make sure you install the Meross App and grant it permissions before you begin. (You will want to use the App to update the firmware of the devices.) b) Make sure to connect to your 2.4GHz band. c) Installation involves connecting to both the 2.4GHz band as well as a config network provided by the device. If you have multiple networks, make sure to turn off AutoJoin on all but the desired 2.4GHz band. d) You may have issues if your 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands share the same network name. I bought four of these plugs. After I figured out the above (which took me about 10-15 minutes), I was able to set up all four of my devices in about 10 minutes. They work great - and they can be grouped with my Koogeek switches as well. Very pleased so far. I will update this review if I experience any problems in the future, but at this point I would recommend these smart plugs.
