> 3 dayAn easy to use, inexpensive way to get started with HomeKit. This little smart plug is easy to set up on iOS: Launch the Home app, click the +, choose Add Accessory and scan the barcode. Ensure the smart plug is plugged in and it should show up, ready to give it a name and icon and start turning your item on and off. I purchased the two pack to control a lamp in my office and one in my wifes sewing room. Once it is set up in the Home app, you can use Siri to control it or create Apple Shortcuts for more advance automation. I named mine Office Lamp, and I can just use my watch or phone and say turn on my office lamp, etc. You can do a lot more with automations and shortcuts. I would recommend these to someone getting into home automation. I liked these so much I ordered another 2-pack.

> 3 dayThese are the plugs I use in my “smart apartment”. They definitely do work once you get them set up properly. I had some issues setting up a few of them and it took me longer than I would have liked to spend doing so. Design wise I would prefer something less bulky, but for the price point I am happy with these. I will continue to repurchase these even though set up can be frustrating at times.

> 3 dayAdded very easy to HomeKit and works just as good as my wemo ones. No need to pay for the name when they do the same thing.

> 3 dayWhen I attempted to install the device, SmartThings needed my login to the app. I stopped at this point because I dont want to install an app to get thus connected to SmartThings

05-06-2025Setup can be a bit of a pain. It often times fails and you have to factory reset the plug to try pairing it again. I turn my internet off at night (better sleep), and when it comes on in the morning these plugs won’t reconnect. They say “No Response” in the Home app (HomeKit). Interestingly enough, some of Meross’s other products (like smart lights) will reconnect in the morning without issue. But a bug in these plugs seems to be causing a crash internally and is only recoverable by physically pulling each plug from the wall socket and plugging in again. Not quite ideal for a smart home setup until this is fixed with a firmware update :(

> 3 dayI have 6 of the Meross smart plugs. They are easy to setup and use with my Samsung Smarthings app. When the power goes out, they always come back online without me being there to reset something.

> 3 dayI use Apple HomeKit as my hub, so the selection of supported devices is somewhat limited (although appears to be getting better). For Smart Plugs, I have been using Koogeek: -- I have used them for years -- I have about 10 of them I needed a few more Smart Plugs, and I was happy to see some relatively cheap options. After reading the reviews, I decided to try the Meross Smart Plug Mini. I am not disappointed. -- The price was pretty good at about $12 apiece. -- The plugs are well-built and straightforward. -- The form factor of the plugs is good. They do not cover up neighboring outlets. -- Installation was simple once I read the directions. A couple of tips: a) Make sure you install the Meross App and grant it permissions before you begin. (You will want to use the App to update the firmware of the devices.) b) Make sure to connect to your 2.4GHz band. c) Installation involves connecting to both the 2.4GHz band as well as a config network provided by the device. If you have multiple networks, make sure to turn off AutoJoin on all but the desired 2.4GHz band. d) You may have issues if your 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands share the same network name. I bought four of these plugs. After I figured out the above (which took me about 10-15 minutes), I was able to set up all four of my devices in about 10 minutes. They work great - and they can be grouped with my Koogeek switches as well. Very pleased so far. I will update this review if I experience any problems in the future, but at this point I would recommend these smart plugs.

Greater than one weekI purchased this smart plug to automate the charging of my iPhone / iOS device. Lithium batteries are damaged over time when they charge above 80% or when their charge drops below 50%, so for optimal battery health (the ability to hold a charge), you want to keep your phone charged between 50-80%. A HomeKit smart plug and the Shortcuts app is perfect for that since the Shortcuts app can automate turning off the plug when the phone passes 80% or 50% battery level. Unfortunately, my phone could only communicate with the wifi smart plug about 70% of the time, even though the phone was sitting feet from the smart plug. This is due to the fact that our wifi network is a mix of 2.4GHz and 5GHz and wifi smart plugs seem to only use 2.4GHz. Ive since switched to a Bluetooth Homekit smart plug (Eve Energy brand) and so far it has been 100% reliable (3 weeks now, where the wifi smart plug had failures on the first day). My Eve Energy smart plug review has the steps for setting up Shortcut automations to control your iOS battery charging.

> 3 dayFirst of all, these work great and Id certainly buy again. I got them because I have a few in-wall Meross dimmer switches, and figured why install another app! I ran into an issue during setup, but found a solution and wanted to make people aware here: I was able to add the switch in homekit and have it respond, but as soon as I tried to add it in the Meross app, it would restart, and not reconnect to Wifi (the light would just blink and blink). The solution? Be really patient! After resetting and restarting a bunch of times, I finally just paired with homekit, added in Meross, and WAITED. It sat there for over an hour blinking, then finally connected, appeared in the Meross app, and was able to install firmware updates. No further issues. TL;DR -- just let it sit!
