I do IT work and buy these for my company. The older model use to drop packets but this one seems to keep on cranking. Have yet to have one fail and they are inexpensive.

I have several of the 8 and 5 port versions and they work very well. I use them to connect several 10/100 IP cameras to a single GB conection to a GB wireless router port.

I originally had a Cisco / Linksys Small Business switch in its place, but it doesnt support Jumbo Frames. My home network has numerous devices which support Jumbo Frames and using two of these increased my traffic with a noticeable difference. Excellent product for the price.

It does what its supposed to do. Ive bought several and none have so much as burped. Styling is attractive enough. I like the Netgear brand and this item does not disappoint. UPDATE: Three years later, this switch still runs faultlessly, 24/7/365. If only all network devices were this reliable . . . .

This is a very reliable product allowing multiple devices to use the network. Easy to set up and very outstanding overall. Nothing bad to say, get one!

I have two of these and they work great if you do not put them on top of your components. I would sometimes lose connectivity, I believe due to heat.

.. it seems like Netgear has traded quality/design with TP-Link. This thing works fine as a switch (the point), but I dont know why they went to this dumb white pretty design, away from what TP-Links switches look like now (Netgears old, plain, square, functional design). I bought some of these for my clients who specifically want something like this, where it has the activity indicator on the opposite side of switch from the RJ-45.

Gigabit Ethernet switches connect multiple devices, delivering speeds up to 10x faster than Fast Ethernet
