> 3 dayI have several switches like this throughout the house. They work really well and seem to be well made. I also have the 8 port metal switch which is sturdier but will get warmer than this. The switch comes with a power adapter and a couple of stands that clamp on and will allow you to install it vertically. The stand will do their job but dont expect much in terms of stability. The best time to get this switch is when Netgear has a rebate for it and they seem to have rebates all the time. At that time it can be found for as low as $20-30. Highly recommended product for the money.

Greater than one weekOurs works fine but some of the ports have gone dead. After about 2 years of use. Also I am starting to see connection issues on some devices and I am unsure if it is this switch or the device or the cable. So... I duno

> 3 dayI had returned a prosafe switch which was a good move. This switch met my needs with no hassles. I would recommend this to others.

> 3 dayGood switch. Works great, but... if you want to use it with a mac, a recently bought mac (intel based), youll need the version 3 of this. Not v2 or v1. I learned it from the hard way. Bought a v2 on october and used with my windows based computers with gigabit speed. But recently, bought a macbook pro and it only sees a 100baseTX on the switch. Netgear upgraded it to v3 to avoid this issue with mac owners.

> 3 dayIve had one of these that worked fine for two years and recently just after the warranty expired it started freezing intermittently on all ports. All the traffic indicators go out leaving just the power indicator on. Only way to reboot is to remove power and all the network cables.- either alone will not restart it. Getting sick of this so its going to trash bin.

> 3 dayMy primary PC was getting sluggish and I suspected that the no-name 8-port switch might be the culprit, so I ordered this, implemented it...and now connectivity (particularly downloads) = much faster. Should have bought a gigabit switch long ago. If youre using a 10/100 and are wondering whether a 10/100/1000 switch is worth upgrading to, buy one of these.

Greater than one weekThe Netgear 8-Port switch worked well in a home application. No issues to report. Probably would not use for a commercial application.

> 3 dayPro: It is a dumb switch that worked as soon as i plugged it in. No fuss, no muss. Con: It doesnt exactly match the AP/router from Netgear, but it is close. Not enough of a problem to drop it a star. Conclusion: This is the switch that you are looking for it you need a reasonably price expansion to your home network and just want it to work without a complicated setup process.
