> 24 hourI have several of these Netgear switches. I prefer Ethernet to Wi-Fi in my home network. This switch provides an easy, inexpensive option to add more (up to 7) Ethernet ports to your home network. Simply plug it in and attach your Ethernet cable(s). I particularly like that the Ethernet cables attach behind the unit. Lights on the front panel indicate connection and activity status.

> 24 hourGood switch. Works great, but... if you want to use it with a mac, a recently bought mac (intel based), youll need the version 3 of this. Not v2 or v1. I learned it from the hard way. Bought a v2 on october and used with my windows based computers with gigabit speed. But recently, bought a macbook pro and it only sees a 100baseTX on the switch. Netgear upgraded it to v3 to avoid this issue with mac owners.

> 24 hourPro: It is a dumb switch that worked as soon as i plugged it in. No fuss, no muss. Con: It doesnt exactly match the AP/router from Netgear, but it is close. Not enough of a problem to drop it a star. Conclusion: This is the switch that you are looking for it you need a reasonably price expansion to your home network and just want it to work without a complicated setup process.

> 24 hourI should have known better than to try a $15 GigE switch. It was terrible and I returned it after 1 night. First, it feels cheap. Second, who puts a freaking power switch on a network switch? Ive never in 30 years desired to turn off a switch. Third, it took my network offline 4 times the first night it was installed. I woke up to a slew of service down notifications in my inbox from my NAS. Do yourself a favor and buy a real switch, not this toy.

> 24 hourNo configuration necessary. Just plug in the power and it works! A similar model has the lights on the rear side, depending on your needs.

> 24 hourOurs works fine but some of the ports have gone dead. After about 2 years of use. Also I am starting to see connection issues on some devices and I am unsure if it is this switch or the device or the cable. So... I duno
