> 3 dayI have couple of the 4 port switches and this 8 port. All are gigabit of course. I have always been very pleased with their ease of use and great performance I get with these switches. Highly recommend these.

10-06-2025Netgear 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch We have Eero wifi and are very happy with it, but several of our devices (desktop, printer, etc) require a direct ethernet connection to the network. The Eero wifi only has a single output plug which means we needed a splitter switch. This Netgear was so easy to set up--literally plug-and-play without having to do a single other thing. ~ Ana Mardoll

> 3 dayAt least splitting out a Mac network this is as simple and as good as it gets - literally plug and play. No discernible network lag no matter how slow the slowest connected device. Appears to appropriately sense and set speed for each connected device. FYI this replaced the slightly higher priced Pro product which mysteriously died after only two year of continuous use (although worked fine during that period).

> 3 dayIt does what its supposed to do. Ive bought several and none have so much as burped. Styling is attractive enough. I like the Netgear brand and this item does not disappoint. UPDATE: Three years later, this switch still runs faultlessly, 24/7/365. If only all network devices were this reliable . . . .

> 3 dayI have to say, Ive been a fan of Netgear products since they were called Bay Networks. This little gigabit switch has a great price and is perfect for small biz or residential networks. Nothing to configure, just attach to your existing router or switch to get more ports. Keep in mind, you use 1 port on each switch in order to connect them together. Example: My Netgear wifi router already has 4 gigabit ports. I needed 5 more ports for some voiSip VOIP phones. So 4 + 8 is not 12... more like 4 - 1 + 8 - 1 = 10 ports. Increase of 6 (not 8). Just keep that in mind when you add a switch. Otherwise, this worked perfectly.

> 3 dayPurchased this from Amazon in December 2006. At the time, I paid a only few dollars more than the current Amazon price. It also had a rebate then. This unit has served me well for 6+ years, running 24 X 7 without so much as a hiccup. A couple of days ago, it started to act up. After determining the unit gave up the ghost, I ordered another from Amazon. Im looking forward to another 6 trouble free years.

07-06-2025I own three of these along with a Netgear router. It works great. Very easy to use, just plug it in and hook up the cables to it.

> 3 dayNo frills, it just works. What more do you need from an Ethernet hub? As a bonus, its a nice looking little gizmo.

> 3 dayNo frills, standard non managed switch with 8 gigabit ports. Lasted me 5 years then suddenly died. Considering how much work I put it through I felt that was satisfactory. Hard to diagnose as it still seemed to indicate it was ok. Performed well for the price for a very long time.
