> 3 dayI have several of these Netgear switches. I prefer Ethernet to Wi-Fi in my home network. This switch provides an easy, inexpensive option to add more (up to 7) Ethernet ports to your home network. Simply plug it in and attach your Ethernet cable(s). I particularly like that the Ethernet cables attach behind the unit. Lights on the front panel indicate connection and activity status.

> 3 dayThis switch is just a bit more expensive than the same switch with less ports. Works as advertised and super easy to setup.

> 3 dayI own a lot of NetGear equipment and I have had no issues with the quality of the devices. This switch looks great and it stacks right under my NetGear wireless router I have another computer in the basement also connected to a NetGear 1Gb 8 port switch in addition to a NetGear NV+ NAS. All were great prices, look great, and work great.

> 3 dayPro: It is a dumb switch that worked as soon as i plugged it in. No fuss, no muss. Con: It doesnt exactly match the AP/router from Netgear, but it is close. Not enough of a problem to drop it a star. Conclusion: This is the switch that you are looking for it you need a reasonably price expansion to your home network and just want it to work without a complicated setup process.

> 3 dayI have several of the 8 and 5 port versions and they work very well. I use them to connect several 10/100 IP cameras to a single GB conection to a GB wireless router port.

Greater than one weekI have always liked Netgear products and have never had any issue with them. I currently have 2 five port switches running in my office but needed one for our new finished basement so I could run all my devices over wired ethernet rather than through wireless. I have the switch sitting in a tv cabinet and it works great. It looks good, works well, doesnt get hot, and does what I need it to do. The price is good for an 8 port switch that runs at gigabit speed. I also like that non used ports do not consume power when not in use. Right now I am running an Apple TV, cable box, Xbox, and PS3 through the switch and it works as expected. I highly recommend Netgear products and especially their non-managed switches.

> 3 dayI do IT work and buy these for my company. The older model use to drop packets but this one seems to keep on cranking. Have yet to have one fail and they are inexpensive.
