> 3 dayI own three of these along with a Netgear router. It works great. Very easy to use, just plug it in and hook up the cables to it.

> 3 dayThis is a great little router and is awesome for the price, but seems to have an issue where some NICs that initially connect at 1000 Mbps will drop to 100 Mbps for no reason. Plugging the NIC in question into any other port on the switch will allow the NIC to connect at 1000 Mbps, but plugging it back into its old port will cause it to reconnect at 100 Mbps. This behavior continues until you power cycle the switch, at which point the NIC connects at 1000 Mbps again. Dont misunderstand, this isnt a big deal, just a bit of an annoyance - when you notice a port thats supposed to be green has gone yellow, it means its time to power cycle the switch. Ive had to do this, on average, about once every two months or so.

> 3 dayRuns cool, no dropped connections. Im using this at a small workbench with multiple towers connected 24/7, and I frequently hook machines I am servicing to the open ports throughout the day.I have yet to have a machine not be detected, unlike my experience with an older 5 port version of this same switch.

> 3 dayI installed two of these switches to expand my home network, using two of the ports on my Apple router. It was extremely simple. I hooked up various devices (DirectTV DVR, Apple TV, Vizio Smart TV, Vizeo Media Streamer, DVD player, etc.) and everything worked seamlessly. Have had them in place for several months now with no problems whatsoever. They look good.

> 3 dayI have several of the 8 and 5 port versions and they work very well. I use them to connect several 10/100 IP cameras to a single GB conection to a GB wireless router port.

> 3 dayI have not thought about this switch since I have installed it. It just works. Heres to all hardware being this easy to work with. Thank you, NetGear!

> 3 dayHonestly my father owned the 5 switch version but it wasn’t enough so by getting the 8 you easily can have multiple connections and still keep your fast 1gb internet’s speed or even more without it hindering the performance at all!

Greater than one weekI purchased two of these 8 port switches, and two of the 5 port switches. For some reason the two 8 ports switches have failed in two years, both with same issues, freezing and hanging. Which is temporarily fixed by cycling the power. The two 5 port switches are still working. I had all the ports in use on both of the 8 ports switches...so maybe that had something to do with it. Needless to say, I had to replace them with D-Link 8 port switches...hopefully they will last longer than these did. By-the-way, I was able to get over 70MB/s using JUMBO frames set to 9000 between my iMac and my QNAP, so for me the JUMBO frames worked fine.
