> 3 dayI had an old 10/100Mbs switch that was limiting my throughput to a few devices on the edge of my network. Well, I just replaced it with this 1Gbs switch. Literally just plugged in the ethernet cables from the old switch to the new switch, and instantly I was getting 250Mbs instead of capping out at 90Mbs. (For reference, Im ISP supposedly gives me 500 Mbs, and this is routing first through a 500Mbs cable modem, then a google home mesh point wired connection, then through the first 1Gbs switch, then through THIS new 1Gbs switch). Id say with all of those hops, Im pretty happy with my actual speeds and the improvement this switch provided! Absolutely 5 stars. The simplest install of any computer equipment ever. It just works!

> 3 dayThis is a nicely priced switch, with great looks and performance. I have a white Synology NAS box and white Apple Router sitting with it, so it matches the décor nicely. I have the NAS box connected to it, which is the highest volume device going through it, and have not suffered a bit of performance reduction. I have it standing vertically using the included stand (feet may be a better word), but it does have rubber feet built into the bottom of the for horizontal orientation. The LED lights for each port change color to indicate the speed the device is connecting at, and there is a front power light as well. The unit runs very cool, despite the plastic case and passive cooling. I have a small gripe with this router, but it is not enough to deduct from the rating. The unit is very light, being that its made of plastic, and this allows it to be moved by the heavier (and in some cases stiff) cables plugged into its ports. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I have the 8 port version and still have 4 ports left, so I expect to have this switch for years to come!

> 3 dayFirst thing: Its a switch so there is no effort to set one up. Step one open box, step two plug in Ethernet cables, step three plug in power. Boom you are done. This is perhaps the easiest setup for PC beginners. This device seems sturdy enough in the first few months and its small enough to mount or slide under the TV.

> 3 dayLove the size and performance of this hub. Works great to hook up my printer and computer dock. Bought a second one to hook up two engraving machines to my computers. They work well.

> 3 dayI own three of these along with a Netgear router. It works great. Very easy to use, just plug it in and hook up the cables to it.

> 3 dayJust installed and it seems to be working as it should. I would have preferred a metal case but I could not fine a switch designed for desktop use with the ports on the back side and the indicator lights on the front with a metal case. I would also prefer that it have mounting screw holes that go through the case for easier and more secure mounting rather than the usual hang it on precisely placed screws of a precise size and hope it does not get bumped off.

> 3 dayI purchased both the Netgear giga switch 5 port and 8 port switches for use in my home about 6 months ago. I have had no problems with either device. I noticed another customer reported that the switch would not provide gigabit performance with his/her Mac Mini. I have had no such problems-- this switch is able to handle both 100mb/s and gigabit speeds with no issues. I have devices that use both speeds plugged in and the switch recognizes the networking capabilities of each device and provides the appropriate throughput. I think the style of these switches is good, compared to other brands. I have one that sits in my media center cabinet and it is stylish enough to not stand out (if you care about such things...) All in all, this does what it advertises, which is all you really want for something like this.
