> 3 dayThis is a simple plug and play type unit. Love that there is no programming. But, the directions have it wrong when it comes to attaching it to a WIFI unit....connect the Ethernet input to the Negear FIRST, attach all your direct access devices to it and run separate line to the WIFI unit...otherwise, the WIFI will cause the frame rate to degrade if several WIFI devices accessing it...if you have a direct computer connection, make sure you have a good firewall and virus protection...programmable WIFI only add extra layer of protection...

Greater than one weekFirst thing: Its a switch so there is no effort to set one up. Step one open box, step two plug in Ethernet cables, step three plug in power. Boom you are done. This is perhaps the easiest setup for PC beginners. This device seems sturdy enough in the first few months and its small enough to mount or slide under the TV.

> 3 dayI own a lot of NetGear equipment and I have had no issues with the quality of the devices. This switch looks great and it stacks right under my NetGear wireless router I have another computer in the basement also connected to a NetGear 1Gb 8 port switch in addition to a NetGear NV+ NAS. All were great prices, look great, and work great.

> 3 dayI had returned a prosafe switch which was a good move. This switch met my needs with no hassles. I would recommend this to others.

> 3 dayJust plug it in and go. This is an approved switch for the ReadyNAS Duo that I have, and it works flawlessly with it. Also works with a Macbook Pro running 10.6, an Airport Extreme router, a PS3, an Xbox 360, a DirecTV HD DVR and a Panasonic Plasma (for VieraCast). Apparently this has the same chipset as the GS108 so the speeds are the same. The only differences are the materials (this one is plastic, the GS108 is metal) and whether you want front ports (the GS108) or rear ports (this one). I went with the GS608 because it went into an entertainment system cabinet and I wanted rear ports and to see the status lights without pulling the cabinet away from the wall. Keep in mind there is NO CONFIGURATION on this model. If you need to set traffic priority (for example, voice and video receive a higher priority than web surfing) you should look at the GS108T. And this model cannot be stacked because of heat dissipation. If you need to place two or more together you have to use the supplied stands to place them in a vertical orientation next to each other.

Greater than one weekThis is a GREAT switch. One of the best features is that if the power goes out, you dont have to reboot everything in a certain order. This has been a huge blessing.

> 3 dayOurs works fine but some of the ports have gone dead. After about 2 years of use. Also I am starting to see connection issues on some devices and I am unsure if it is this switch or the device or the cable. So... I duno

> 3 dayThis is an Ethernet switch, not a WiFi router, and it works great as a switch. It doesnt, and isnt supposed to have, WiFi and I didnt need Tech Support to install and use it. (Amazon should delete those review categories for this device.) Wish Id gotten one of these a few years ago -- it solved an intermittent problem Id had with a device using WiFi that cleared up when I wired it to this switch.
