For jackets, use Obenaufs LIQUID conditioner, it is designed for that use. For boots, this is the jam. On jackets, it creates a visible film.

I used it to on an old Coach leather purse & my husband leather bomber jacket. They both look like new. Highly recommend this product.

Easy to apply, keeps my hunting boots waterproof and, therefore, my feet dry! :-)

I absolutely love that this product is easy to use, smells amazing, and actually works. I have a pair of Redwing Irish Setters, Ariat and Twisted X steel toe pull-ons and this stuff lasts a WHILE!!!!! Depending on the abuse I clean and oil my boots generally every couple months, but I also rotate them to minimize wear. Even after a month of use I can still watch water bead and fall off the top of my boots. And I love the amount that comes in the container. I would recommend putting a layer on once a day for 3-5 days when it’s time to clean and oil, which is where it’s handy to have multiple pairs on hand. I find it works best because it allows each coat to penetrate the leather and doesn’t rub off as easily. I’ve done it where I would put 1-2 layers on a day several hours in between over a weekend, but I like the other way best.

I wanted to treat new Chippewa boots with a product that would help them survive a New York City winter full of snow, rain and salt. After researching many products, I found Obenaufs. Thank goodness I did!

Turns store bought leather gloves into supple second skin. Unbelievable difference. I applied it to old and new gloves. Old gives were restored. New gloves were softened and made comfortable. I was worried at first, because the gloves felt sticky after applying, but after about 10 minutes of working with them on the tackiness was gone and the gloves worked great. Buying this for all my buddies as a Christmas gift.

Been using this for a while now. Can’t say the price is average as it can be found cheaper elsewhere but overall an awesome product shipped directly to your door.

Got this to help break in a stiff new pair of leather 20 eye Doc Martens, based upon a recommendation I found in one of the reviews. GREAT PRODUCT. Applied the Obenhaufs to entire INSIDE area of the leather boots, really massaged it into the dry, stiff, leather of the new boots. The leather would absorb it immediately it seemed so I did a few coats per boot before the leather finally gained a more supple feel. Let the boots sit and condition for about 48 hours before wearing them for the first time. Doing this helped stretch and break in the boots TREMENDOUSLY, saving me from the suffering that my feet would have otherwise endured. Used about 1/3 of the tub for the initial application and have not had to reapply in the months since. As a bonus, it has a subtle and very pleasant scent, and left my hands superbly moisturized after applying this to the boots.

It shipped with the lid actually open, but that’s the good thing with these products I guess? Get a horse hair brush and buff. It works okay and requires a monthly application.

Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP

Industrial strength leather preservative (lp) was originally developed for protecting and waterproofing firefighters leather work boots. Heavy Duty LP is a leather conditioner made with our natural oil and beeswax formula. This unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula protects leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils in Heavy Duty LP are gradually released into the fibers as a long term lubrication. Heat and flexing cause oils to be released, oiling the leather when it needs it most, making this an excellent leather boot conditioner. Before application, a spot test is recommended because Heavy Duty LP will darken your leather and nubuck. Not recommended for Suede. Made in the USA.

Apply Heavy Duty LP to your:

  • Leather Work Boots
  • Saddle Bags and Chaps
  • Belts
  • Holsters
  • Sheathes
  • Baseball Gloves
  • And more!

Originally Developed for Firefighters

Heavy Duty LP

Over 30 years ago, an Idaho Wildland Firefighter developed this unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula to protect leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, ash, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils are gradually released into the fibers as a long-term lubrication. Heat or continued flexing causes oils to be released faster. Leather gets oiled when and where it needs it most; while on the job!

Recommended Application

At room temperature, apply by hand as body temperature helps melt LP into leather. Two applications last longer in wet conditions. For absorption, allow ten minutes or up to one hour between treatments. On smooth leather, buff off excess with a clean cloth. On nubuck, use a soft bristled brush. One ounce should provide one application to a pair of tall boots. Apply every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed.

Extensive Lab and Field Testing Compared Obenauf"s Against Other Products. Rated Superior and Proven to Resist:

  • Dynamic and Static Water Penetration
  • Scuffing and Abrasion
  • Manure Acid, Salt, Chemicals
  • Premature Cracking and Parching Due to Heat
  • Stitch Tear and Dry Rot
  • Perspiration
