I found out the hard way decades ago that using any sort of oils from animals for boots is just a smorgasbord for mold that destroys boots. Have been a snoseal man for years. Putting boots in an oven is handy, but stupid unless you can keep the temps under 110...which is a reasonable high temp that a boot might see. There are lots of glues in the new boots that are gonna degrade in that heat. Snoseal had a higher melting point than Obenaufs...which is why the hair dryer is necessary. I got some new Danner work boots. They soaked up 4 coats of Obenaufs. And because Obenaufs melts in your hand, its also gonna melt into the boot every time you wear them. There was a very noticible change is the pliability of the leather. I also put a coat on a pair of 3 year old Limmer mid weight hiking boots with 500+ GPS miles on them...only one coat...but these had been snolealed (these are old school boots...no gore Tex booties)

Great product that brings old leather back to life This will darken lighter colored leather, but looks very rich when applied and adds protection to your leather products

Been using this for a while now. Can’t say the price is average as it can be found cheaper elsewhere but overall an awesome product shipped directly to your door.

I followed the instructions and did two applications and my 10+ year-old Zamberlan 996s look great. I did not expect this product to do anything with the scuffing on the toes but to my amazement it did. Really a welcome surprise! Love that you can apply this by hand -literally with your bare hands-and get a nice refresh look to boots and other leather stuff. The Zambies are basically waterproof forever, at least in my experience of 25 years of Zamberlan ownership, so I have no idea if they help with that or not. Its not very often that a product not only lives up to the rep but manages to surpass and deliver beyond expectations. A very solid recommendation on this product!

I am a repeat customer. I use this product on my work boots and leather gloves. Adds to the life of these items and makes them more comfortable to use.

I was a little skeptical about this stuff when I first heard of it. Sno-seal seemed to be the choice of most winter professions. However, I gave it a shot, and I’m blown away. I will admit, I use sno-seal AFTER I’ve applied this stuff, but this stuff goes deeper into the leather. After getting familiar with this product on my Kinco mittens, I put some on my Timberlands. The preppy New York boys might tell you that ‘YouRe NoT sUppOseD tO dO thAt to tImbS’ but... I wasn’t about to leave my $150 leather boots untreated. It did make them darker (which I actually really enjoy) but you can just SEE how much more supple the leather gets. It truly does a great job of protecting the leather from drying out, cracking, and obviously it makes the leather much more water resistant. Still not quite waterPROOF, hence the sno seal, but sno seal doesn’t soak into leather the way this stuff does. One coworker of mine got the exact same mittens at the same time as me, but he left his untreated. I put at least 3 coats of obenaufs on mine before applying sno seal. His mittens are falling apart, while mine could easily handle another full season of work. Maybe I can add pictures in the future.

I wanted to treat new Chippewa boots with a product that would help them survive a New York City winter full of snow, rain and salt. After researching many products, I found Obenaufs. Thank goodness I did!

Been using this boot dressing for years. Work boots, hunting boots, and leather shoes love it. Best Ive used for conditioning food leather boots. Great for my long North Idaho winters.
