As a balloon twister, a lot people ask me if my hands get sore after hours of twisting, and I have to admit - they do! I use my hands a lot for work including balloon twisting, crafting, typing and editing, and gardening, which is my favorite hobby. While it hasnt bothered me much before, as I get older Ive noticed my hands feeling sore and tired more quickly. The Ella Bella Paraffin Wax Machine is something I wish I purchased years ago. The unit heats up paraffin wax quickly and offers warmth therapy to your hands, feet, or elbows. The unit heats up the wax to your desired temperature and after dipping your hands several times, the wax warms your hands completely through for some time. Similar to a heating pad to a sore back, the heat really relaxes your hands, and I loved how easy it was to slide the wax off once it cooled and hardened. It was oddly satisfying to have the wax come off in a single large piece, and because its wax, you can put it back into the unit to melt and use again. The set comes with everything youd need to get started including four large chunks of Paraffin Wax, Plastic Liners, Brush, Spatula, Mitts, and Booties. I had to heat up all four packs of paraffin wax in order to get the wax deep enough to dip my hands in deeply. The included plastic hand and foot liners as well as the terry cloth mitts and booties are nice if you want to keep your hands/feet warmer for a bit longer, but I didnt really end up using them since I only kept the wax on for short periods of time. I did like the spatula though since I could use it to help scrape warm wax off. This set also comes with a bonus manicure set which was nice, but since I already own one, wasnt entirely necessary. As a relaxation tool, this is a really nice unit to have at home for pampering sessions on cool nights. Its something I will likely use more frequently as it really helped relax my sore hands, and is certainly worth considering if you work with your hands a lot and want something to help relax those sore finger muscles.

Dipping a hand, foot or elbow in warm wax can provide some comfort for stiff joints. This particular unit has a plastic housing and lid with a metal interior. It arrives with everything needed for immediate use including bars of scented paraffin, plastic liners for hands and feet along with mitt and booties to wear over the liners after dipping. The instruction book is brief and perhaps not as complete as possible but it still contains valuable information and the videos on the product page help fill in the gaps. A couple of things to note—be sure to wash, dry and moisturize the skin before dipping in the wax which helps with the removal of the wax. Also the included white plastic grid tray should be placed in the unit after the wax has melted. It is there to provide a barrier so when dipping hands, etc. they do not come in direct contact with the metal at the bottom of the melting cavity. There are 2 methods for heating the wax—temperature or timer. I selected temperature so I could ensure a comfortable level of heat but having the two options allows customization. It required 3 of the 4 included paraffin bars to meet the minimum level in the unit and use the lid to keep heat in while melting the wax. Melting point for the wax is between 125 and 135 degrees Fahrenheit but the machine automatically melts it and then lowers the temperature but I manually lowered it a bit further to 120 degrees which I found to be a more comfortable heat. Comfort will vary by person so it is best to go slow--for example dip in a finger to test and do part of the hand, foot, etc. to avoid any burns and establish a heat level. The directions state to dip 5 to 10 times allowing a few seconds between layers to lightly firm up and then place plastic liner over the wax and then apply the outer fabric cover and wait 12 to 15 minutes for the wax to completely dry. Dipping 3 or 4 times seemed sufficient but this too will vary. If only one person is using the unit after removing the wax it can be returned to the unit for re-melting otherwise it should be discarded. The unit works well and I find the warmth soothing on slightly stiff finger and wrist joints, it increases blood flow and temporarily improves the appearance of skin. When done disconnect the power and allow the wax to harden. It will stay in the unit while for storage. The paraffin is colored purple and has a somewhat strong lavender scent which is pleasant but could be too strong a fragrance if sensitive to fragrances. Using the unit provides a spa-like treatment but unlike a spa it is worth considering that the user is responsible for cleaning and storage of a large unit between uses and maintaining needed supplies. I genuinely like the unit but probably won’t use it very often.

I purchased the product for hand treatment due to pain from a broken wrist. The warmth of the wax feels very nice on my hand. The company was super responsive to my inquiries and provided additional info on the operation of the unit.

We absolutely love this wax machine ,It came with disposable hand &feet bags and soft cover mitts the wax leaves your feet feeling silky smooth afterwards. It also helps with my mothers arthritis in her hands.

Being that I live in Maine, where the winters are very cold, my skin can use all the help it can get. I thought giving this paraffin wax machine a try might be something great for my hands. Upon arrival, it is boxed nicely. I was easily able to get it set up. The instructions dont say how much wax to use, which was trial and error for me. The controls that are on the machine are terrible. If you slightly bump near the controls, the settings would change. This heated up so hot that I couldnt stand to even use it. If I put it on the lowest setting the wax would start to set. I got very annoyed with it, and honestly gave up on using it. Cleaning it out took a while, and was just very sloppy and messy. I think better instructions on use would be very helpful. This was just a fail for me. User error is certainly possible, and you may find this to work great for you.

At first glance, the product is packaged VERY well. Everything was very snug and neatly packed. I love that it came with everything that you would need for the whole process! The added grooming kit was a great bonus! The warmer is user friendly and easy to set up. It is definitely intimidating at first to figure out the right temperature for you, but once you get it—it’s amazing. Incredibly soothing, and my skin feels brand new. It’s perfect for the cold dry weather right now. I also really enjoyed the scent of the wax. Very pleasant. I would 100% recommend you giving it a try and supporting the Ella Bella brand!

My feet were really dry and even cracking on my soles. When I go to the salon, often times they apply paraffin wax to help. So, I decided to buy myself a paraffin wax machine fot my home. I am so happy that I picked Ella Bella. It is so easy to use. It is not messy. And it feels so good. It feels good when you’re doing it and your feet feel so much better after.
