It fed the cat at the times we programmed into the feeder and now the cat is not waking us up at 5:00 am whining to be fed. Like the fact that we can feed the cat 6 different times and vary the portions throughout a 24 hr. period. When the cat is happy we are happy.

This product is perfect when you need to leave a pet for few days. I left my cat a week and he never was without food. very clean and easy to programing. Love it!

I like that you have the option of multiple portions all at once or through out the day. This saves us 5 minutes every day and needing to have someone come feed her cat when we leave for short trips.

Weve had this item over a year now and it works as advertised. It has been consistent in delivering the amount of food that we programmed it for. The only complaint I have is the difficulty of programming the unit. To reprogram the unit the user has to go through the complete cycle of setting the time and everything else if you want to just change the portion amount. Not set up logically. After submitting this review customer service contacted me and said they haad forwarded my comments to the manufacturer about how difficult the unit was to reprogram, so I added one star to my rating. The customer service department is great!

Adjustable to give just the right amount of food. My cat loves that she gets fed on time even if I sleep in on the weekend or have to work late.

Bought this for my chunky cat. I would leave for the weekend and leave him a large gravity drop feeder filled with dry food. Big guy decided he wanted to gorge himself to death and gained a ton of weight. The only alternative I could think of was an auto feeder to control his diet. It works amazingly. On or around the time its supposed to drop its portions (often delayed a min or a min early to drop.) Im not very fond of the portion sizes though. It drops small amounts. I had to up my cats portions from SIZE: 2 to SIZE: 3. Size 2 fed barely a hand full. With my cat getting 2 portions 4 times a day, he was still starved. He was fed, but not to his standards. He would eat into bread bags, bacon bits bags, and anything that looked edible to him. When I increased his size to 3 for 3 meals a day at normal human meal time hours, his cravings went down. The biggest thing I do not like about this unit is that it isnt completely fool proof. My cat was actually learning to press the touch sensor buttons on the outside of the unit to unlock the unit and then gorge himself all over again. I heard the unit drop food one day at 10:34am. I thought that was strange as his feeding time wasnt until 12 noon. 6 minutes later it happened again. I went into the kitchen to investigate and watched him press the buttons with his to unlock the unit, then to drop his food. Needless to say, the feeder is now covered and taped off with cardboard to reduce his buffet style eating habits. I read on other reviews about the MIC recording and how annoying it is. *If you never set the MIC recording up, youll never have to hear it!*

Super easy to use. Lots of different types of portion sizes. The only issue is that the holder for the food is small. Be prepared to have to fill it every 3-4 days depending on portion size.

Its a great feeder for the price - it has helped my bengal cat with his food aggression immensely. However, the one main drawback is that the clock gets behind by a minute every week or so, and it needs to be reset. For example, while the clock has been set to 6:30 for his dinner and it stays at 6:30, it starts falling behind and before long, that 6:30 is going off at 6:35.

I decided on this feeder after reading the reviews. I did not find it hard to program. The instructions were easy to follow. I didn’t bother recording my voice. My cat runs to eat as soon as she hears the food hit the bowl. Also someone in another comment mentioned the portion size is 1/6 of a cup. That helped me determine how much to give my cat. I giver her max 3 portions, which is 1/2 cup, per feeding. I also like the option to give portions manually as well. The only drawback is I would like to have some type of bell to alert when the food is low because I don’t always pay attention.

As a person with chronic pain and multiple disabilities, this automatic feeder has been a game changer in building a better relationship with my cat. I’ve been with my kitty for about 6 years, but as a business owner I frequently find it hard to stick to a dedicated feeding schedule. We both love this feeder because it can be programmed to dispensed food at literally any time of day (I was delighted to set it to 4am, which is when my cat has munchies the most often), and it can also be frequently changed to alter the portion sizes to the appropriate portion for his present energy output and weight. I have a Maine Coon mix kitty and he tends towards lounging and lethargy from time to time, which means that his necessary meal size fluctuates as well. The vet recommends reducing his food schedule so we can reduce his weight, but his activity level and appetite changes from week to week. This automatic feeder makes it easy to dispense the proper portions to my cat throughout the day, without putting the pressure on me to remember everything. The feeder is easy to program if you have patience to learn to process. You do need to cycle through all options to get to the settings you want, but you can go “back” by pressing the minus button while in settings. 3 portions is exactly 1/4 a cup (I measured this out manually). When I program the device, my cat purrs with delight. He loves this automatic feeder, and so do I!
