> 3 dayMy cat easily knocked it over and the top popped off, spilling the food everywhere. Not good for a motivated, hungry cat.

> 3 dayMy cat used to vomit, all the time. And would cry to be fed/wake me up. Now, this has helped to feed kitty 4 small portions a day which has helped his vomiting SO MUCH. Keeps him from eating all of his food at once and I have peace of mind that kitty is fed while I am away. There is a plug in, but ALSO a back up battery. This way if I am out of town I do not have fear that kitty will go unfed. I like that if you want to give an extra portion you can with a quick button. There is a lock feature, so kitty can NOT feed himself (even though he tries...). Since he knows that its the feeder machine - he does not cry at me at 6 am anymore to feed him which helps with food association. Cats need routine, and this is the PERFECT buy for busier pet owners with varying schedules.

22-11-2024My cat, is very upset I purchased this. He has to wait until he hears the wonderful food hit the metal bowl. Then, my fat cat, moves faster than I see him move all day. I think its great! I dont have to remember to feed him, its portion controlled. Hes still not losing weight because on occasion I catch him eating the dogs food... otherwise this feeder works as expected and was pretty easy to set up.

> 3 day5/26/23 UPDATED REVIEW: Originally I had this at 5 stars since liked having this for my pet so that they would wouldnt eat too quickly. Its been about over 1.5 years and suddenly the clock stopped running which makes it useless as a timed feeder. It doesnt seem to have any issue with setting the time/interface. Ive tried unplugging and unsure if theres a way to reset. Not sure what happened here. Also unsure how fresh it keeps the food as my pet would complain loudly until the dry food has been refreshed with food we keep in a sealed container. Buy with caution since this may last just until the warranty ends.

> 3 dayWell, it does the job. But all in all not very impressed with the engineering of this thing. Fortunately, its not the build quality I have a problem with. It seems solid and like it will last, at least from the outside. Well see about the brains and moving parts that dispense. But, this thing requires 3 x D batteries... for backup. You cant even run it on the batteries alone. So you plug it in, and then also put in 3 x D batteries. I had to go buy D batteries since pretty much nothing uses them anymore. I have an electronic board game from the early 1980s that has a motor, makes sounds, and lights things up with incadescent bulbs... and uses 2 x D batteries. So the engineering of this device in 2022 that has an LCD display and turns a motor once or twice every few hours up to 6 times per day is less energy efficient than a 40 year old electronic toy. Meanwhile, youve got a digital display and clock that stays on permanently using power. Why? Does my cat need to know what time it is? The only time the display needs to be on is when its being programmed. And since you have to hold down the lock button anyway to get access to any control over the thing, even the manual dispense, why not have the display stay off until its unlocked? Save some power? And with the advertisement of up to 50 portions I figured portions would be pretty small so you could fine tune them to your needs. But they arent. I cant even imagine what 50 portions would be. At least half of the 3L storage would be my guess. The bowl would totally overflow. Im currently using a total of 8 portions per day... dispensing 1 portion 4 times, and 2 portions 2 times per day, and tend to empty some of the bowl back into the dispenser every couple days as leftovers pile up. Always thought my cat was a pig, but apparently 8 portions per day is too much even for him. Anyways, itll serve the purpose and dispense cat food, but its really a $30-$40 device at best, with little thought put into a sensible design and very inefficient electronics that make me suspect its longevity will come down to how long it takes the brains to fail.

> 3 dayI have had this for about a month and it has worked great! My cat is not scared of the unit, in fact she knows the sound of the food hitting the stainless steel bowl and runs to eat! This has enabled me to portion her food without measuring each feeding. The best part is she doesn’t pester me like she would when I was dispensing the food. I 100% recommend this product!!

> 3 dayI wasnt sure about using this but ready the review and decided to go for it. I got to say it worked perfectly when I needed to leave for the holidays with the cat.

> 3 dayI am not sure who designs these products, but clearly no one in the veterinary space who knows something about portion sizes. I am not sure why the portions cannot be adjusted to reflect NORMAL portions in dogs and cats. Who feeds their dog or cat 1/12 of a cup? I am not sure if it was operator error, but when I set the portion and timer, it started portioning out and would not quit! I think it would have dispensed the entire container. Not ideal for me. I will stick with the one I have for now. One thing I did like--the design. It was small and looked nice--that was about it.

> 3 dayIt’s beautiful and works great. I wish the lowest number was half the portion it currently is so I could feed my cat small meals 6 times a day. Setup takes hitting the buttons 20+ times and each tap is LOUD. I can unlock the device by holding the lock button but I can’t hold it to lock. Instead I have to wait anxiously for the program to stop blinking (inciting a final loud blink) so my changes have been saved.

> 3 dayThis has been an EXCELLENT purchase. I love the sleek and compact design, the fact that you can record a little voice memo to play when the food comes out, and how easy it is to use. Given, there was a slight learning curve for me and I accidentally caused the machine to pour out like 99 portions of food, but it was pretty simple to figure it out how to use it within minutes of setting it up. My cat is on the chonkier side and the vet said he needed to go on a diet. I tried a food ball but my cat couldn’t make the association that his source of food has changed. With this handy machine, I have made sure that he is getting the exact amount of food he needs spread out to 4 different feeding times (6:30am, 12:30pm, 6:30pm, 12:30am - 6 hours in between each meal). He doesn’t beg as often either..well, maybe he does but we now can move about in peace knowing that our cat is being fed without us having to attend to this throughout the day. This has also been super helpful given that I have times when I have to be away longer in the day for work. The only reason I considered taking a star off is because it would be EVEN better if there was a way to easily see if the food has run out or is running low. There have been a few times when I noticed there was no food coming out during meal time. But perhaps that’s on me for not checking enough. If there was some kind of warning light or notification, that would be super helpful. It would also be really cool if there was a way to also use this for wet food..but perhaps that is just because I like it when a machine can do it all. For what I wanted, this machine has definitely met the mark!!
