I would say that this product is pretty good for what I expected. I would say really that my only problem is the color purple. Even though I dont favor that color to begin with, I notice these lights seem to have somewhat of a hard time achieving that color. All the other colors in my opinion are good. The Out-of-House connectivity is really good as long as whatever device youre controlling the lights from is actually connected well to the internet. My S.O. was in Florida for vacation and I was in Oklahoma waiting for him to get back. He would change the lights from Florida and the reaction time was pretty darn impressive. These lights are also nice for when you still want light but want it dimmed or if you want to set certain moods such as making yourself more alert and focused or more calm. We have these two light bulbs plus the light strip (which is probably my favorite). If you dont think youll use the colors a bunch, just purchase the regular white Philips Hue. My lights are always on color so I prefer these over the white ones. However if youre wanting a more vibrant look or something to make your PC setup look cool etc, Id suggest the light strip. It is much brighter and more vibrant and has the same capability as the light bulbs. These lights also have music/gaming modes which we use a ton. If youre sensitive to blinking light then I wouldnt suggest that too much. The gaming mode matches more the color scheme of your game rather than imitate sound like the music mode does (for both light strip and the Lightbulbs). But like I said, if you want a more dramatic and rich color, the strip is probably your best option. Other than that, cant complain!

You get what you pay for. Wish they were better than 800lm though.

I currently have two color bulbs in the living room, a lightstrip in the kitchen, and a dimmer switch. I didnt really care about colors, I just wanted the ambiance bulbs and this kit was on sale. I actually do like the colors though, esp for the warmer scenes. I probably still wouldnt pay full price for them, but I would buy more color bulbs if they were on sale. The bulbs are brighter than I expected, but they could still be brighter. I wish they made 75W equivalents, but Ill just end up adding a floor lamp with more Hue bulbs to compensate. The app is functional, but could definitely be improved. I find it really frustrating that I can delete light recipes but not edit or create them. I dont even understand why light recipes and scenes are considered separate things. Overall the options for lighting with this (bright, dim, warm, cool, colors) really improve the lighting of the rooms.

Good light for Alexa. They are too expensive though.

I really did NOT want another hub. This was one more power cord, one more cord to the router.. very much not how I wanted to be setting up a modern wireless smart house. But, they certainly work. Every time, all the time. If you are having trouble with devices, perhaps this is worth the money for you, it is for me. Each bulb is about 2X the cost of its competitors. But, Hue comes with a full suite of bulbs (rare), consistently works (I cant say how rare that is, but its certainly not universal). So, I give 5 stars for working perfectly, beautifully, easily, and reliably. Sure, its more expensive, but theres no surprises there. Only slight concern, the app is a mixed bag. Much better than others in some ways, but limited in others. Certainly not a hindrance to recommending or buying more; especially as there look to be third party apps that will fill the holes of the standard app.

Really dissapointed to find out that the hub has to be directly connected to your router in order for it to work. Unfortunately, I do not have access to my landlords router that I use. Just ordered a MagicLight WiFi bulbs for only $16 and it has WiFi capabilities- no Ethernet cable needed! Basically does the exact same thing at a fraction of the cost.

Im in love with these bulbs. Its been a couple months since ive purchased them and they been holding up well. I purchased this dual kit along with an extra 2 bulbs for my bedroom. I have three of them set up to one large lamp while the last one is attached to a separate smaller lamp on the other side of the room to balance out the light. The app is easy to use and the preset scenes work very well. Having the bulb changes the entire aesthetic and feel of a room and I cant imagine my room without them anymore. It also pairs perfectly with my echo dot and it allows me to command it to turn on/off the lights, change the color, and the brightness. The only problem I have with the bulbs are the price, although expensive I do not regret purchasing them.
