> 3 dayWe’re a mostly Hue household, but I also have a Samsung SmartThings hub to help with controlling a couple of other devices. I wanted to be able to put a motion sensor aimed at our stairs so that if someone comes down the stairs at night the downstairs lights will turn on to a middle-of-the-night-appropriate level and then turn off again a few minutes later. For a while, I used a Samsung SmartThings motion sensor and set up a routine in ST to turn the lights on based on time of day, motion, etc. This worked pretty well, but the battery didn’t last very long with the Samsung motion sensor. This isn’t the case with the Hue motion sensor. It has been going strong since day one with no battery issues. And I’d say it is more reliable than the Samsung version. I wish there were more customization/programming criteria in the Hue app for this device, but I can’t really fault them for that because the device works well and they need to design their system for the masses and not someone like me who will spend hours trying to perfect a routine. I guess I need a new hobby! I’m glad Hue is making devices like this and can’t wait to see what else they come out with.

> 3 dayLimited functionality will frustrate with this product. You can’t use with IFTTT, you can’t control the sensor using Alexa, and the Hue app also shows very little love for a product with plenty of potential if it could be used as a trigger for other things, instead of just lights. Disappointing across the board.

> 3 dayBought this about two weeks ago I guess. Works real good. I have it hooked up to three Hue Light bulbs and it works like a charm.

> 3 dayThe product was tricky to install and configure but I got it to work nonetheless. I do however need to reset the connection periodically as well. For the price, that’s why it’s a 3 star rating. The hub and bulbs combined are ungodly expensive and there are so many other brands out there that work as well (without a hub needed for the bulbs) and it’s a fraction of the cost.

> 3 dayThis was super easy to install and it works perfectly. Only thing that is preventing me from giving this a 5 star rating is the limited options in settings. You can only set up for daytime and evening hours. I would like to have one setting during the day time, one in the evening and another late at night. Other than that, very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it

> 3 dayPros: Works 9/10 times, Energy savings, Settings, battery Cons: Angle restricted, Sometimes the timer does not turn light off. Slow response time Overall: Great accessory but room for improvement. I would love to see a wider sensory angle and stronger sensor. I would highly recommend for a laundry room, mud-room/entryway, or closet.
