Philips Hue Motion Sensor + 2pk W A19

Paredes Home
> 3 dayMy house is nearly full of Philips Hue lightbulbs at this point, I love them. I decided to try this motion sensor out to add to my Hue collection and overall it does do its job well when it wants to. There are still some issues with detecting motion, but I’ve noticed the sensor updates its firmware every now and then so I’m sure Philips will get it right eventually... About 8-9 times out of 10 when I enter the room with this sensor in it, the light will come on as intended. There is an option to adjust timers, etc so that the light doesn’t just stay on the whole day too. You can even change Night and Day settings so after a certain time the brightness or colour will be different. I like to keep a dim low light setting for 11:30pm-6:00am, because usually that’s when we’re asleep and nobody wants a sensor to activate shining bright room in the middle of the night. It’s a very convenient feature to have. Anyway, there’s always a couple of times when it just does not detect any movement at all, which is frustrating. I could wave my hand in front of it when that happens and it still won’t detect me, so I end up using my the phone app or light switch to turn on a light. Nothing is perfect I guess, it works most of the time so that’s enough for me.

> 3 dayI have come to rely on these devices in my home automation routines. I mounted one in the pantry to turn on the lights when the doors are opened. I installed one in my closet that will be dimmed in the AM hours and bright in the daylight. I have also used them to geofence my child at bedtime - between certain times, I am notified on my iPhone and Apple watch the bedroom door is opened or when there is motion in the upstairs hallway. An added benefit of these motion sensors is being able to monitor the temperature in different rooms of the house.

> 3 dayTook about 45 seconds to set up and works great. Very happy with the purchase. I use it for my pantry light where the light switch is outside the pantry. 10/10 would recommend this product for laundry/pantry/bathroom. Anywhere where you’re in and out of there quick. I could see it being a pain for a place for continuous occupancy like living room.

> 3 dayI am using this outside under a covered doorway to control the porch light whenever someone comes to the house or leaves the house. It works great. I can control the sensitivity to light so it is only active at dusk and night. The porch light is also connected to Alexa so it con be easily turned off! This is my second sensor. I also have one on the basement stairs that automatically turns on the basement hall lights when some one goes downstairs. Perfect when you have your hands full !!

> 3 dayI have this in a closet where the light switch is in a very inconvenient location. It totally solves the problem by automatically turning on my Hue light bulb whenever I walk in. We like it so much we are putting in 3 more of them in similar locations.
