> 24 hourI bought this on sale for $19 thinking that if it didnt work for my kayak, Id use it for my bike and there would be harm done. Well, this thing is perfect for the kayak. Sure, there arent hydraulic lifts or anything to help you lift it so it takes some effort, but for $19, who can complain?! The only modification for lifting the kayak was turning the hooks 180 degrees so that they face outward. We installed the lift above and perpendicular to the girders so that the kayak could be flush with the ceiling. It works like a charm. Im sure the same could be done for bike use which would allow for another foot of space below the bike.

> 24 hourThese get stuck in the up position and then I have to get a step ladder and get them down and then unlock them to get them down. Using them to life the bikes up is great so 3 stars for 50% useful.

> 24 hourEasy to install. It’s been holding my girlfriend’s beach cruiser up for a few months now. No issues.

> 24 hourMy bike was stored in the garage which is also my hobby wood shop. Every time a walked by it I got grabbed by the rubber handlebar grips. No more! Its hanging from the rafters and out of my way. Easy to install with basic skills and easy to raise and lower the bike. A simple product that works perfectly. Recommended.

> 24 hourSo before I ordered this I read the negative reviews and after installing it and using it I have a few tips that will make this a 5 star item: 1) Buy 4 additional screws. It comes with enough screws to put 2 screws in each pulley bracket but there are 4 holes available. Invest the extra dollar for the piece of mind that it will stay attached to the ceiling. 2) There were a couple reviews that said the hooks bent causing their bike to fall from the mount. They seem pretty sturdy but if youre worried about it then grab a couple of carabiners from the local sporting good store and add a backup to the hooks. 3) Read the instructions! If its not working right its probably because you mounted it wrong. There are a few bad reviews who gave this item one star who clearly didnt read the instructions. 4) I shouldnt have to say this one but here goes: Mount it on a stud. Do not use dry wall anchors. It doesnt come with them for a reason! 5) Pre drill your holes and use the correct setting on your drill. Every project doesnt require your drill to be at 20. The screws arent the best quality but if you pre-drill you holes per the instructions and use the appropriate power setting on your drill, there shouldnt be a problem.

> 24 hourThe product is very good except for the rope that comes with it. It frays after just a few uses in lowering and raising your bike. The metal components are fairly heavy metal and well made. Overall, its a very good product, except for the rope. I bought another rope and will install it soon.
