> 24 hourI purchased four of these. All four have frayed ropes, but it did not seem to make them dangerous. The screws, which are very important for anchoring them to the ceiling joists, are worthless because the metal is too soft. I replaced them with deck screws with square head drivers, because the firm connection to the ceiling is vital. Also, one of the four hoists was missing a pully! Apparently some fine worker forgot to install it, making the whole device worthless. Thankfully Amazon.com is replacing this without charge or hassle. Overall I would gladly buy again! > 24 hourGreat product. It does exactly what it says, it stores your bike(s) up and out of the way.

> 24 hourThis is the third bike pulley system Ive purchased. I absolutely love them for their convenience of bike storage in the garage. This rating would have been easily been 5 stars, excepting for the poor quality of the line which ships with the product. As I mentioned, I bought three, the third came with a frayed, worn and twisted piece of line that should have been rejected at the factory. Te frayed portions would not fit through the pulleys (and really shouldnt be used regardless), so I will have to either send the unit back or buy my own pulley line. As Ive already mounted the unit before I discovered the poor condition of the line, you can guess which Ill do. Bottom line, I would recommend this product, but check the line carefully before you mount the pulleys!

> 24 hourEasy to install ceiling mount. Mine is currently installed in the living room of my small one bedroom apartment and holds my road bike just fine.

> 24 hourSo before I ordered this I read the negative reviews and after installing it and using it I have a few tips that will make this a 5 star item: 1) Buy 4 additional screws. It comes with enough screws to put 2 screws in each pulley bracket but there are 4 holes available. Invest the extra dollar for the piece of mind that it will stay attached to the ceiling. 2) There were a couple reviews that said the hooks bent causing their bike to fall from the mount. They seem pretty sturdy but if youre worried about it then grab a couple of carabiners from the local sporting good store and add a backup to the hooks. 3) Read the instructions! If its not working right its probably because you mounted it wrong. There are a few bad reviews who gave this item one star who clearly didnt read the instructions. 4) I shouldnt have to say this one but here goes: Mount it on a stud. Do not use dry wall anchors. It doesnt come with them for a reason! 5) Pre drill your holes and use the correct setting on your drill. Every project doesnt require your drill to be at 20. The screws arent the best quality but if you pre-drill you holes per the instructions and use the appropriate power setting on your drill, there shouldnt be a problem.

> 24 hourI picked up the Racor bike lift to store a Yakima SpaceBooster storage box and it works great! I was able to lift the box 6.5 ft. above the floor and take advantage of the space below it. The installation was simple and the instructions well written. This is a great buy.

> 24 hourRacor makes the best overhead lifts. Others look very similar but once you have both you will see that these are superior. The wall anchors have rounded edges so as not to fray the cord. Others edges are sharp and rough and will fray your cord. It cost a bit more but I think these are the best.

> 24 hourThe bike does not stay level when you pull it up or down, a little awkward.
