Used it to hang a 24ft ladder to the ceiling of my garage. Works great.

Bought two sets of these for our bikes that were taking up a lot of space in the garage. Very easy to set up and they work exactly as theyre supposed to. I highly recommend these if you need some space in your garage or another room in the house. After a while you wont even notice that your bikes are hanging above your cars in the garage.

Well, maybe not the doctor, but my son, who listed this bike lift on his Amazon.com wish list. He hasnt mounted it yet--his garage has an 18-foot ceiling, so hes looking for a ladder--but he was very pleased to get it!

Shipped promptly with all the parts accounted for. Purchased two and mounted them side by side above the hood of our compact car. Well designed and made. Easy to install. Easy to operate. Priced right. Highly recommend for situations where you dont have wall space

This bike lift appears to be of great quality and works great! Installation was not very difficult (but make sure you have a good stud finder or some other way of making sure the screws are drilled in the center of the 2X4s), and raising and lowering the bike is even easier! The pulley system helps distribute the weight in such a way that it is not as hard as you would think lifting or lowering a 40 pound mountain bike. It feels like it about cuts the weight in half. There is also a catch on the end of the pulley so that even if you let go of the rope, the bike stays where its at rather than crashes to the ground! The catch works so well, it almost seems that the rope-tie thing mounted to the wall is redundant (but redundancy never hurt anyone right?, and plus it gets the rope out of the way). The way the catch works is somewhat like vertical blinds. If you pull straight down or towards the wall mounted rope-tie thing, it will only raise the bike and wont lower them. You have to pull the rope back the other direction away from the wall to release the catch, and then keep the rope at that angle while lowering the bike. It really works great. My wife and I bought two of them for our bikes and love them! If youre worried about whether the hood of your vehicle will fit underneath the raised bikes, measure how tall your bike is and then add about 10 inches or so to tell you how low they will hang from the ceiling (the handle bars/seat of our bikes are around 8-10 inches from the ceiling when fully raised). Overall, this lift is very well made, easy to use, saves tons of space, and is a great deal! Solid five stars!

We use these for not only bikes, but our kayak too. Its somewhat basic, but does need to be installed correctly. I can see how a bad install would cause problems. Our garage ceiling is 12ft, and its long enough for the standard use AND the kayak (where the hooks are 6ft apart). Has worked perfectly for us for the 6mo weve owned them!

Nice idea. Execution stinks. Definitely replace the rope with one thats braided - has better hand. But here is the killer: the damn hooks are not hooks at all. They are L - shaped and will not wrap around a round handle bar nor the underside of a bike seat. Made of steel with a thermoplastic cover, the steel is also so stiff/stuck in this L-shaped form, you cannot bend it. My three bikes go up in the air very tenuously but only if you raise your bikes absolutely level, each bike will slip off the POS hook and into your face or upon your GD car (dented). My next step is to bring down the hooks and hammer them (maybe with heat) across an anvil to give them the curve/hook necessary to hold a bike. Or, if that does not work, drill holes into the supposed hooks and affix a nut and bolt to protrude and hold the bikes. This is a classic case of a manufacturer who had their good idea/design executed in China and the Chinese were given no clue that a genuine hook shaped/claw was necessary to make the GD thing work - a POS without modifications.

Overall this works ok. The three stars are for missing/ damaged parts. The cleat and hardware were missing, and the rope has a frayed area. I decided to not return it but disappointed that it was missing parts.

Product arrived on time, it was very easy to install on a ceiling as soon as I discovered where the stubs were located. Lift works as expected and hangers fit very well my bike.My bike is not too heavy but it is not aluminium
