> 3 dayThis ceiling hoist is a good value for the money it cost. It will, however, require some patience when you want to lower your bike. The release is a little clunky and wont always work like its supposed to. Sometimes it will get stuck and youll have to reach with a ladder to assist it. Installation was a breeze though. I screwed it to a 2x4 piece of wood. Then I screwed the whole thing to the ceiling.

> 3 dayWorks great! Only criticism is the 1.5-inch mounting screws. The half inch depth of the bracket and half inch drywall on a finished ceiling leave only a half inch of screw to penetrate the wood rafter. I dont feel that this is enough for a screw loaded in tension. I used 2-inch screws.

> 3 dayOkay, it works as advertised. However, if the trusses in your ceiling are routed in a direction perpendicular to the direction you want your bike to go, youre forced to either mount the two pulleys 24 apart (two narrow) or 48 apart (by most building standards). I chose 48 and used the center two holes on the pulley brackets for the fastening. Nice and solid to the truss. My biggest complaint is that the hooks are not angled enough. Because of this, I had my mountain bike hoisted and hooked up just as the directions said, and the seat came off the hooks while I was standing in front of the bike! The front wheel slammed into my face, but no damage was done (fortunately, I turned enough just in time to avoid a broken nose). After that, I took a 24 adjustable wrench and bent the hooks to a tighter angle, attached the seat to them by going around the seat post and under the seat... and it works fine. Good product though. If you want your bike off the ground but dont want to have to do a full shoulder press to lift it, this thing is a good solution.

> 3 dayExcellent product. Easy to install. Good directions ,not that you really need them to install. There are several older reviews complaining about cheap screws and poor quality rope. Those have been addressed as the screws and rope are fine.

> 3 dayIm glad to find this ceiling-mounted bike lift now comes with a much improved braided cord. Id recommend this bike mounting arrangement if you have the ceiling height in your garage. I have a 9-foot ceiling and Id recommend that be the minimum to provide sufficient clearance over the car or van. Ive bought and installed an older versions of this ceiling-mounted bike lift liked it in spite of the older coarser braided cord. The pulley mechanism is simple and easy to operate. Installation tip: I found it easier to pre-drill pilot holes into the studs first before fastening the brackets down with screws using a cordless drill with a clutch. Spacing the brackets approximately 30 inches apart should be adequate for most bikes.

> 3 dayI have 2 of these rigged up to lift a roof top cargo box and suspend it in the wasted space above my garage. This works great, it is a bit awkward trying to keep both lifts in balance while raising/lowering the Skybox 16 to get it out of the way. It isnt the highest quality latch mechanism, i definitely dont trust it by itself to hold this heavy cargo box...but I just tie the rope securely to a bracket on my garage wall. Cheaper than any of the alternatives I could find.

> 3 dayEasy ro install. Works well, but can be a bit of a hard pull to raise the bike. Have not found anything better, however.

> 3 dayOverall its a good product. Listen to the other reviews though in that you need a secondary method to hold the hooks in place on the bikes otherwise they will slip off. The install was easy and the hoist does a good job of getting the bikes out of the way. Overall Im happy.
