my husband installed them quickly and seems to really hold our bookcase so it doesnt fall if our daughter pulls herself up on it.

These are surprisingly solid! Sort of a cool, industrial type, securing method. The work rack is super secure with two of these and the finished product is pleasing.

I needed something to secure a very light but tall bookshelf. Since I have been very happy with the steel Quakehold fasteners for my heavier furniture, I decided to try these straps for the bookshelf. It was simple to install and held strong when I pulled the bookshelf forward with most of my weight. I personally wouldnt feel comfortable using velcro fasteners for furniture like heavy dressers, TV stands, etc., but I think it works very well for lighter furniture like this. Please note that the provided materials state that the velcro weakens after several times of fastening and unfastening (I cant remember the exact number of times, perhaps 20), so this may not be a good solution for you if you will regularly need to undo the velcro and reposition your furniture. It doesnt affect me, but its something to be aware of with this type of fastener.

The same price as the store, AND they work great! IF you live in earthquake country, and seems that may extend a lot more east than here on the coast of California, YOU NEED THESE! Yes, they are a bit of work to install, BUT if that day should ever come when a moderate to huge earthquake happens, your furniture will not topple over on you as you get out of your home. Now, you MUST, seriously, MUST follow the very tiny print and attach these to STUDS in your walls. If not, these are just a waste of money and are cosmetic. IF you attach them to a stud AND either drill into your furniture, OR use the very strong Velcro, you will be OK. I seriously recommend you use their other products to ensure your valuables do not fall, BUT ya really need this in much of the West Coast and well, anywhere ya might have an earthquake! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Quakehold furniture straps!

The lead photo is black, and color is not in the product title on this color. Be careful. Make sure youre ordering the right color.

Not in a quake area just needed something to make sure the toddler grand kids would be safe if they pulled on the bookcases. Arrived on time. Attached the straps to bookcases in a bedroom for the grandkids. My husband pulled on the cases and they seemed to hold very well but there was I slight tilt so not worried the cases will fall on them but I will still put all books and heavy items on bottom shelves with light items on top shelves just in case they pull on the bookcases and items fall out. Gave it four stars because I dont think you can ever get the Velcro off the furniture and if you could it would probably damage the finish. Since we have inexpensive put-to-gether bookcases not a problem for us. They have a cardboard backing and screwing anything into them wasnt an option so sticking on the Velcro straps was perfect for us. Although it is Velcro and you are supposed to be able to open the strap to move furniture for cleaning, etc. I could not open it. It has a very strong hold. There is also a warning on the package about how frequently you can open the Velcro before it starts to lose its hold. So if it is important to you that you are able to move the furniture for cleaning, etc. make sure you can open the straps before installing them. Luckily having an excuse not to move the furniture is ok by me!

So, I was installing this on my two piece Armoire in my bedroom. I opened up the product and found it was folded and did NOT want to Flatten out. The Hook and Loop really Holds together, which is part of the problem. I tried to seperate the hook and loop which was tough, after separation I used a hair drier to try and flatten out the folds. I had a little success with that. It comes woth alcohol wiped to remove any debris, furniture polish, oil from furniture. I also used extra alcohol, and a microfiber towel to make sure the Armoire was perfectly clean. After installing the straps, I tried to place the loop material on the Armoire. The loop strip was still all folded which made laying it out tough. The adhesive is NOT very good, did not want to stick. I can see that when I need to move the Armoire for cleaning, when I pull the strap with the hook material off of the Loop material, the loop material will not separate from the hooks, but instead I will just be pulling the loop material off of the Armoire at the adhesive. This will pretty much ruin that strip, and Ill have to look for some other strips to use. I will most likely have to put some short screws into my Armoire to screw the loop material down to so It doesnt peel off, something I really wanted to avoid. My advice...consider something else!

We had three geometric shelf units stacked on their sides. These straps anchored the top one to the wall. Just perfect.

We recently bought a 6 foot bookcase. We wanted to secure it in case of an earthqueake and to make sure kids wouldnt tip it over accidently. These straps are great. Two bolts into the wall studs and velcro attachment to the top of the bookcase out of sight.
