> 3 dayThis item, unlike many childproofing kits, requires only 2 screws in the wall and adhesive on the furniture item in 2 places. This is much less damaging to walls than some kits that have 3 screws for each of several straps, for example. While I dont live in an earthquake prone area, I feel my toddler is safe with my large bookshelves secured with these straps. I cant even see the adhesive because it is at the top of a tall bookshelf and the strap is brown, like the furniture.

> 3 dayThe new bookcase is tall and narrow, the books are super heavy and fraidy-cat grandma had visions of squished littles. After looking and looking at seriously ugly, poorly engineered anti-tip or wall anchor straps, I found these by accident. So no earthquakes here but a couple of grands amounts to about the same thing. They were less expensive and so much better. I *love* these things. I installed these in about 10 minutes using an electric drill, a magnetic stud finder, and a stepladder, installing the long screws into wall studs. And once installed, they do not show, as seen in the last photo. so pleased with the final result. That bookcase isnt going anywhere. Thank you to whoever invented these. Theyre terrific.

> 3 dayGrowing up in CA, we had to worry about earthquakes. When we moved to Idaho, my husband thought I was crazy for wanting these; but I won the arguement :-). Anyhoo, we had these on all tall furniture in the house and the kids dressers, but didnt have one on the dresser in our room. My son, at age 6, was playing in our room and opened all the drawers and it came crashing down. In slow motion, I saw it coming down, but couldnt stop it! In a moment, I thought he was seriously injured or worse, thought about the call to 911, etc. As I quickly ran to pick it up, worried about what I would see, I see my son huddled in the 12 inches between the down dresser and the footboard of our bedframe; completely unscathed! This is one of those times I will always think about how close I was to loosing my son. PUT THESE ON ALL DRESSERS and TALL FURNITURE. They are worth the cost!!!

> 3 dayAfter the devastating SF Bay Area 1989 earthquake, earthquake-preparedness experts started insisting that tall and/or heavy furniture be attached to wall studs, I did that for all of my furniture meeting that criteria. No pre-packaged strap or cable systems for sale at that time, so I figured out how to make them myself using items I bought at the hardware store. Over the years, I acquired a few more pieces of furniture but put off securing them to wall studs, intending to get to it later. You know, the immediacy of the large catastrophic earthquake faded. The subsequent intermittent smaller earthquakes that did no damage in my house were apparently not enough to motivate me. Sad! However, I found this strap kit on Amazon two weeks ago. It looked so simple and easy to install (compared to the systems I created on my own in 1989) that I no longer could procrastinate by using the excuses Id used since then. The strap kits arrived in two days; Yay Amazon Prime! The Oak color kit worked well enough for the oak furniture pieces. The Velcro pieces are substantial. They arent going to be invisible or disappear completely from sight, just because the color is similar to the furniture piece. But, you shouldnt expect that from this design. Convenience and easy installation trumps invisible systems in my world right now. After reading the instructions to ensure that I was installing the straps correctly, it took three minutes, tops, to install. Caveat: three minutes AFTER successfully finding the center of a wall stud. Thats sometimes a challenging task even when using a stud finder! (Had to fill an oops hole drilled that missed the stud.) I dont intend to move these furniture pieces often, if at all, so the max number of unfastening the Velcro strips doesnt apply to me. Installing Quakehold! 4161 Furniture Straps was so easy, Im considering replacing my homemade furniture-retention systems with these.

> 3 dayWe recently bought a 6 foot bookcase. We wanted to secure it in case of an earthqueake and to make sure kids wouldnt tip it over accidently. These straps are great. Two bolts into the wall studs and velcro attachment to the top of the bookcase out of sight.

Greater than one weekNo longer live in earthquake area, but found these furniture straps to be very effective at holding a tall 7 bookcase in place. We have a baby and toddlers come and visit so it is a real safety issue to have our bookcases secure. The kit comes with everything you need for the actual mount however I recommend having your own power screwdriver and a phillips in order to complete. The kit gives two ways you can secure which is handy. We ended up just cutting off the excess after I used a our own mounting screws and anchor for the wall. For our project we had a 7 bookcase with about 75lbs worth of books on it and now it is firmly anchored into the wall. Why only 4 stars? Asthetically, the straps can look a little unflattering, however our colors (black bookcase and dark green room) masked this, however you can choose to strap behind the bookcase to hide this aspect completely; also the length of the straps almost makes you take the extra step of cutting, however it is always better to have more than less in these type of projects. Recommended.

> 3 dayI have a very tall (7+ft) and wide (6.5ft) mahogany China cabinet. It weights a ton. I recently moved it into my living room because it was so big it over powered the dining room. I realized that, being on the second floor, it shook when people walked by. Nothing major, but it did have me uneasy. I used two of these straps to secure it to the wall and was amazed. No more shaking or wobbling. I could jump up and down in front of it without the least bi movement. I echo other reviewers in cautioning that the straps really need to be attached to a stud, This wasnt a problem given the width of the cabinet. The cabinet may not be exactly centered with the wall studs, but i am confident it is secure. Ive also seen what can happen when a child pulls out the drawers of a dresser and tries to climb it. My nieces dresser cam tumbling down on her because she did just that. I wouldnt hesitate to put these on any dressers or tall pieces of furniture in a house with kids. I am ordering another set for a grandfather clock. I dont think ill be able to enter that with a stud, but its considerably lighter, so i think I can get away with a sturdy wall anchor.

> 3 dayThese are a strong woven strap. I used them to secure some fish tanks and book cases. I was surprised how well the adhesive side seems to work. The adhesive side is what allows these to work so well for a fish tank. J admit in do not like the look of them stuck to the glass but put them in the most discreet places I could find.
