> 3 dayThese are a strong woven strap. I used them to secure some fish tanks and book cases. I was surprised how well the adhesive side seems to work. The adhesive side is what allows these to work so well for a fish tank. J admit in do not like the look of them stuck to the glass but put them in the most discreet places I could find.

> 3 dayWe got some of these at Lowe’s a while back for a hutch. Loved them enough that when I went back for more and they didn’t carry them any longer, I searched them out on Amazon. Good price, sturdy, easy to install. I like the Velcro bits- makes it easy to move if needed. (My kids are older so I don’t worry about them pulling the Velcro off on shorter pieces of furniture.)

Greater than one weekLOVE this product. As Earthquake Country native Ive been using them for years. But now that I live elsewhere I still use them. I just feel much safer knowing that heavy furniture is rigidly affixed to the studs in the wall. Easy to install and brings tremendous piece of mind.

> 3 daySecured a very heavy Scandinavian Design cabinet to the wall to reduce damage/injury in case of a significant earthquake. Easy to install. I have used this product (in other colors) on 4 other large furniture pieces. Choose the right color product for your furniture. Installed correctly, youll rarely notice that its there.

> 3 dayStraps are ok. Need to supply adequate screws. The screws are low quality and soft metal, and the pack did not contain a 1.5“ screw. The ¾ inch ones were too shallow and the 2” ones they supplied were too long. I needed to search the basement for appropriate screws. Unnecessary headache for that price.

> 3 dayThese worked great to child-proof two shelving units in our basement/playroom. The open shelving units are 72Hx28Wx18D. We attached the straps (one strap per shelf) to the top of the units with the adhesive. For one unit, we were able to screw into a metal stud. For the other unit, we used a toggle bolt (not provided with the kit). The straps are strong - the units will not move, even when I put my full weight on them (130 lbs) - and seem much more sturdy than the regular kits sold specifically for child-proofing.

> 3 dayBeware that the sticker portion adheres very securely to furniture. Ive purchased these multiple times while remodeling and adding large bookshelves/wardrobes to my house. They work incredibly well. Our floors were uneven in a nook of the house that we wanted to place bookshelves in. The bookshelves are solid wood and very heavy. After messing with the adjustable feet on the bookshelves for hours, we determined it would be foolish to not have straps attached, however level we got them. These straps immediately held the shelves firmly in place. Absolutely no rocking. We really tested by trying to tug the bookshelves forward (while one of us served as a spotter in case they fell), and they wouldnt budge. If we had children in the household, Id put these on everything. The only thing to be wary of, as mentioned, is that the sticker portion is insanely secure. Im pretty sure if I ever try to remove these, paint and wood/stain will be removed from the surface of my furniture. What I loved about these is that they work for areas where you cant easily reach in with a drill to secure a piece of furniture with screws on one side. We were able to screw the strap to the wall, because we could go in with the drill facing the wall above the bookshelves. But we would have had to remove the bookshelves from the nook if we were going to drill the other side of the strap into the tops of them, because there was not enough space between the top of the bookshelves and the ceiling to fit the drill in that direction. Using the sticky side on the bookshelves prevented us from having to pull the heavy units back out of the nook.

> 3 dayEasy to apply and the grip feels strong (my senior citizen hands needed help from pliers to separate the industrial strength velcro). But be aware that while the strap is 15 inches long, the velcro takes up 6 of those inches, and the grommets (places the lag screw could anchor) are only 3 and 6 inches from the velcro. So if you have the suggested 1 inch or more of slack between the lag screw and the velcro, that means you need to anchor these 2 to 5 inches from the edge you are stabilizing. In my case I was stabilizing a 54 inch wide china cabinet on each side, and with 16-inch center to center studs, I could make it fit but had to position the cabinet farther down the wall than I wanted so it would line up with the studs. If I had had a, say, 58 inch wide cabinet, I would have had to anchor at least one of the straps outside the profile of the cabinet, and I wouldnt have liked that appearance. The other choice would have been to use a shorter length of velcro on the cabinet, which would have made the bond less secure. It would merit five stars if they had made the strap a little longer with another grommet or two to allow more flexibility in positioning. The problem I mention applies to a side mounting. Mounting at the top wouldnt involve that issue.

> 3 dayAfter the devastating SF Bay Area 1989 earthquake, earthquake-preparedness experts started insisting that tall and/or heavy furniture be attached to wall studs, I did that for all of my furniture meeting that criteria. No pre-packaged strap or cable systems for sale at that time, so I figured out how to make them myself using items I bought at the hardware store. Over the years, I acquired a few more pieces of furniture but put off securing them to wall studs, intending to get to it later. You know, the immediacy of the large catastrophic earthquake faded. The subsequent intermittent smaller earthquakes that did no damage in my house were apparently not enough to motivate me. Sad! However, I found this strap kit on Amazon two weeks ago. It looked so simple and easy to install (compared to the systems I created on my own in 1989) that I no longer could procrastinate by using the excuses Id used since then. The strap kits arrived in two days; Yay Amazon Prime! The Oak color kit worked well enough for the oak furniture pieces. The Velcro pieces are substantial. They arent going to be invisible or disappear completely from sight, just because the color is similar to the furniture piece. But, you shouldnt expect that from this design. Convenience and easy installation trumps invisible systems in my world right now. After reading the instructions to ensure that I was installing the straps correctly, it took three minutes, tops, to install. Caveat: three minutes AFTER successfully finding the center of a wall stud. Thats sometimes a challenging task even when using a stud finder! (Had to fill an oops hole drilled that missed the stud.) I dont intend to move these furniture pieces often, if at all, so the max number of unfastening the Velcro strips doesnt apply to me. Installing Quakehold! 4161 Furniture Straps was so easy, Im considering replacing my homemade furniture-retention systems with these.

> 3 dayHave used these on multiple objects for safety for our kids, especially our 2 yr old who is a climber. These are a must-have on dressers, bookshelves, etc for safety with littles. Highly recommend as once they are installed, furniture doesnt move and is sturdy in place. We even had to rearrange a dresser in my sons room, and straps left no damage on the dresser when we needed to remove. We love these straps!
