Greater than one weekPoor quality. Using to hold a shelf to wall in toddlers room. My husband specifically asked that I never purchase this brand again. Looks fine and seems to do the job however.

> 3 dayI have a very tall (7+ft) and wide (6.5ft) mahogany China cabinet. It weights a ton. I recently moved it into my living room because it was so big it over powered the dining room. I realized that, being on the second floor, it shook when people walked by. Nothing major, but it did have me uneasy. I used two of these straps to secure it to the wall and was amazed. No more shaking or wobbling. I could jump up and down in front of it without the least bi movement. I echo other reviewers in cautioning that the straps really need to be attached to a stud, This wasnt a problem given the width of the cabinet. The cabinet may not be exactly centered with the wall studs, but i am confident it is secure. Ive also seen what can happen when a child pulls out the drawers of a dresser and tries to climb it. My nieces dresser cam tumbling down on her because she did just that. I wouldnt hesitate to put these on any dressers or tall pieces of furniture in a house with kids. I am ordering another set for a grandfather clock. I dont think ill be able to enter that with a stud, but its considerably lighter, so i think I can get away with a sturdy wall anchor.

> 3 dayThese strips work great and hold furniture down well. However, when we took the strip off a shelf after about a month of being on it left a residue. Not a big deal on IKEA furniture, but I wouldn’t use it on something more expensive than that.

> 3 dayThese have worked incredibly well for us! I have a 3 and 5 year old and we used these to attach the upstairs TV console to the walls (as well as an additional strap for the flat screen). Installation was easy and there wont be any damage to the furniture itself. My husband tested its stability by using all his force to try and tip the console and it didnt budge an inch. I feel VERY secure knowing this will keep my children safe should they try and climb on the console (which they know not to.....but you know....theyre children!)

> 3 dayLiving in California and in the earthquake zone, I feel the need to have some of our heavier furniture secured in case of earthquake. Bonus, it secures against a highly active toddler trying to pull and climb on furniture. We used the velcro on our furniture as we did not want to drill holes on it. My husband tried tugging on the furnitures we used it on and it held well on the wall. I feel better knowing , heavy furniture will not tip over. Super easy to use and comes in different colors to match your furniture.

> 3 dayI recently purchased a tall chest for my sons room. It is made if solid wood so its pretty heavy. Since the drawers had a slight new furniture odor I decided to open them to let them air out. I made the mistake of opening them all at once because the chest fell on me. I was able to catch it with my arms and push it back up. Fortunately, I was left with only a few bruises on my arms. But, I know a small child may not be so lucky if a piece of furniture like this falls on them. I immediately started searching for something to secure the chest to the wall. I was surprised that none of my local stores carried anything for this purpose. I was happy to finally find this product on amazon. I put it up immediately and it seems to be doing the job. The part that attaches to the furniture is adhesive so I think that if I tried to remove it, the wood would likely get damaged. But, I dont ever plan to take it off so thats not an issue. I should mention that we used a stud finder so that we could attach this to studs behind the drywall for added strength. I think this is a great kit to have for securing furniture in kids rooms. I would recommend it. UPDATE 12/28/12: My son opened all the drawers in his chest which is what caused it to fall on me before I installed the Quakehold. But, this time it didnt fall. It tilted slightly and was caught by the Quakehold. Im so glad I bought this!

> 3 dayI bought a really tall thin shelf made of some sort of metal. I couldnt drill into it and the back was made of like cardboard material. Just when I thought I lost hope, I found these with the velcro. I was worried the velcro wasnt strong enough but the bookshelf feels way sturdier than its ever been. Just follow the instructions and youll get the results you want.

Greater than one weekDo not waste your money! Go to the hardware store and buy L brackets. I installed these using install plan 1. THere are two options. Perhaps the second option would work. The install plan one involved securing to the wall with a long sccrew and using he velcor/ adhesive straps to adhere to the bookcases. I liked the idea of not drilling into my bookcases. Besides, the screws provided for installation method 2 were too long for my Ikea Billy Bookcases and would have gone all the way through. I installed the straps on Sunday afternoon, and my floors are uneven so they were installed so all the bookcases would remain flush. I came home from work Monday and one was leaning away from the wall about two inches, by Tuesday they were all leaning quite severely. The adhesive did not hold the straps were moving and re-adhering or slipping. Wednesday night I stopped at home depot and got 1.5 L brackets and short screws. I installed them, no worries, and I can secure 5 bookcases for the price of one of these. I used the long screw from this set, so it wasnt a total waste, but that is an expensive screw. They have these in Home Depot so if you are curious go open a package up. Then buy the L bracket that meets your needs. They should be on the same isle with the screws you will also need.
