> 3 dayThese have worked great, granted weve never truly tested them. I installed these on furniture to prevent tipping over if/when my child pulls and climbs on things. Hopefully shell never try hard enough to see how well these straps work! They seem pretty sturdy though.

> 3 dayI think this is a good product. The hardest part is finding the studs in the wall. I only did it because I have grandchildren and I wanted to be a bit safer with book shelves and curios. This offers me a measure of comfort along with watchful eyes when there are visiting. I know that children can move fast and these straps could offer the seconds needed to get to them before something bad could happen.

> 3 dayAfter the devastating SF Bay Area 1989 earthquake, earthquake-preparedness experts started insisting that tall and/or heavy furniture be attached to wall studs, I did that for all of my furniture meeting that criteria. No pre-packaged strap or cable systems for sale at that time, so I figured out how to make them myself using items I bought at the hardware store. Over the years, I acquired a few more pieces of furniture but put off securing them to wall studs, intending to get to it later. You know, the immediacy of the large catastrophic earthquake faded. The subsequent intermittent smaller earthquakes that did no damage in my house were apparently not enough to motivate me. Sad! However, I found this strap kit on Amazon two weeks ago. It looked so simple and easy to install (compared to the systems I created on my own in 1989) that I no longer could procrastinate by using the excuses Id used since then. The strap kits arrived in two days; Yay Amazon Prime! The Oak color kit worked well enough for the oak furniture pieces. The Velcro pieces are substantial. They arent going to be invisible or disappear completely from sight, just because the color is similar to the furniture piece. But, you shouldnt expect that from this design. Convenience and easy installation trumps invisible systems in my world right now. After reading the instructions to ensure that I was installing the straps correctly, it took three minutes, tops, to install. Caveat: three minutes AFTER successfully finding the center of a wall stud. Thats sometimes a challenging task even when using a stud finder! (Had to fill an oops hole drilled that missed the stud.) I dont intend to move these furniture pieces often, if at all, so the max number of unfastening the Velcro strips doesnt apply to me. Installing Quakehold! 4161 Furniture Straps was so easy, Im considering replacing my homemade furniture-retention systems with these.

> 3 daymy husband installed them quickly and seems to really hold our bookcase so it doesnt fall if our daughter pulls herself up on it.

Greater than one weekGreat product. Installation instructions were clear so it was easy to install. The straps were noticeably lighter than they appear on the website. The only other criticism is that the way they are packaged causes the Velcro to curl a bit on the ends so I needed to lay some books on the straps for a bit to get the Velcro to fully stick to the cabinet (the adhesive isnt strong enough to overcome the curl and stay stuck without help). The Velcro is VERY strong, for those who are worried. I think the adhesive holding the Velcro to the furniture would give long before the Velcro does.

> 3 dayCouldnt drill holes into the furniture. This seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. Installed into wall stud. Stuck to cabinet. Adhesion is great! Thing is not coming down. Hopefully these stand the test of time. Will revise if they dont!

> 3 dayI needed something to secure a very light but tall bookshelf. Since I have been very happy with the steel Quakehold fasteners for my heavier furniture, I decided to try these straps for the bookshelf. It was simple to install and held strong when I pulled the bookshelf forward with most of my weight. I personally wouldnt feel comfortable using velcro fasteners for furniture like heavy dressers, TV stands, etc., but I think it works very well for lighter furniture like this. Please note that the provided materials state that the velcro weakens after several times of fastening and unfastening (I cant remember the exact number of times, perhaps 20), so this may not be a good solution for you if you will regularly need to undo the velcro and reposition your furniture. It doesnt affect me, but its something to be aware of with this type of fastener.

Greater than one weekMy toddler loves to climb in drawers to play. So when we put a new dresser in her room with a heavy tube TV on top, I had horrible visions of her getting crushed. These straps were very easy to install and are hidden from view. They are very strong and I love that I didnt have to drill holes in the dresser to install them. And wouldnt you know, not 20 minutes after I installed them I caught my kid climbing in the dresser drawings. Chalk one up for the good guys.

> 3 dayTall bookcases and dressers need these. Note: they come two to a package so those who read more carefully than I can avoid buying two packages to hold up two bookshelves. Theyre easy to install, but be sure to use a socket drive to screw them into the studs - a philips head just wont work.

> 3 dayYes, you could just purchase straps and screw them into the wall, but then youd be missing out on a lot that these particular straps have to offer. First, they are actually safety tested to a particular weight - is it really worth saving a few bucks to take a chance that the straps you buy might shred in a strong quake or if a big kid (or two kids) climb on your piece of furniture? Second, the adhesive/velcro combination makes it so you dont have to ruin your lovely, expensive, heavy furniture in order to secure it. Third, everything is right there in the package, with instructions, ready to go. Convenience and safety in one. Ive used these straps for my armoires and other particularly heavy pieces of furniture and lighter duty straps (KidCo Straps and anti-tip brackets for) for midweight and lighter pieces.
