Have used these on multiple objects for safety for our kids, especially our 2 yr old who is a climber. These are a must-have on dressers, bookshelves, etc for safety with littles. Highly recommend as once they are installed, furniture doesnt move and is sturdy in place. We even had to rearrange a dresser in my sons room, and straps left no damage on the dresser when we needed to remove. We love these straps!

These worked great to child-proof two shelving units in our basement/playroom. The open shelving units are 72Hx28Wx18D. We attached the straps (one strap per shelf) to the top of the units with the adhesive. For one unit, we were able to screw into a metal stud. For the other unit, we used a toggle bolt (not provided with the kit). The straps are strong - the units will not move, even when I put my full weight on them (130 lbs) - and seem much more sturdy than the regular kits sold specifically for child-proofing.

Actually bought four of these for bookcases that I own. Just use a stud finder and look for a stud anywhere behind your bookcase. Center would be best but it doesnt really matter. From the top of your bookcase go down a few inches and mark a spot right in the middle of the stud. This is so the straps can be hidden. Take a washer put it on the screw then add the strap behind it (Velcro facing you) and screw it into the mark you previously made on your wall. Push the bookcase up against the wall and since the velcro was facing you, it will now face downward on top of your bookcase. Remove the backing of the velcro cloth and stick it to the top of your bookcase ensuring that there is little to no play in the strap anchored to your wall. You have now successfully earthquake proofed (or toddler proofed in my case) your bookcase. Rinse and repeat on all of your dressers, bookcases, etc until you are complete. I personally use a drill bit to pre tap so the screw goes in easier. I also use a corded drill for the drilling and screwing. Installing two straps on a bookcase takes me less than 5 minutes with power tools and that includes finding the studs and making sure theres no electrical there. Putting that long screw into a stud by hand would require some immense hand strength and probably 10 minutes per strap easily. If youre not putting it into a stud and just in sheetrock you might as well not even have these. 20 lb of pulling pressure and youll blow the sheetrock out and the whole thing will come crashing down. Even with sheetrock anchors it would still be questionable so just put it in the stud. Again doesnt have to be center because the straps are about a foot long and you can adjust where you put the stickers for the velcro. Better safe than sorry. You wont regret this purchase if you have kids or live in an earthquake prone area or both.

Very well-built. My furniture feels very secure in prevention of tipping.

Very simple to set up and install. Great for book shelves and bigger cabinets. The best way to use, is to attach them to studs in the wall, then attach them to the desired furniture, you want secured.

wasnt bad to install, but you definitely need a drill which, in my case, i end up having to buy. Be aware, you may end up having to buy a wall anchor (I did, cause i have drywall) and end up making a pretty big hole on the wall for it to work. Now, how good is it? I dont know. Its securely installed, and obviously something would need to happen for its quality to ever be put to test. Honestly, it gives me a little bit of an extra peace of mind to know its there, but other than that I rather it be that nothing ever happens for me to ever find out if this product is yay or nay, anyway. So, 3 stars cause it seems okay, and wasnt too terrible to install (oh yeah, dust everywhere). 2 taken off cause you have to go and buy extra stuff to get this done and it does make you have to drill a big whole on your wall to do it.

Secured a very heavy Scandinavian Design cabinet to the wall to reduce damage/injury in case of a significant earthquake. Easy to install. I have used this product (in other colors) on 4 other large furniture pieces. Choose the right color product for your furniture. Installed correctly, youll rarely notice that its there.

The new bookcase is tall and narrow, the books are super heavy and fraidy-cat grandma had visions of squished littles. After looking and looking at seriously ugly, poorly engineered anti-tip or wall anchor straps, I found these by accident. So no earthquakes here but a couple of grands amounts to about the same thing. They were less expensive and so much better. I *love* these things. I installed these in about 10 minutes using an electric drill, a magnetic stud finder, and a stepladder, installing the long screws into wall studs. And once installed, they do not show, as seen in the last photo. so pleased with the final result. That bookcase isnt going anywhere. Thank you to whoever invented these. Theyre terrific.

Living in California and in the earthquake zone, I feel the need to have some of our heavier furniture secured in case of earthquake. Bonus, it secures against a highly active toddler trying to pull and climb on furniture. We used the velcro on our furniture as we did not want to drill holes on it. My husband tried tugging on the furnitures we used it on and it held well on the wall. I feel better knowing , heavy furniture will not tip over. Super easy to use and comes in different colors to match your furniture.
