> 3 dayVery disappointed with this system! It seems to have the capability of identifying my other cameras but Reolink will not allow them to be viewed or record by their software. And for the price you would think they would have allowed you to use a cordless mouse, so the system could be placed in a secure place. I am replacing a system that was 1/3 of the price but was allowed to view and record other cameras on MY network and it even allowed me to use a cordless mouse.

> 3 dayIve been a Zmodo user for years. Their products were good with good support. But then they started pushing their cloud storage and even stopped producing NVRs. I decided it was time to upgrade. I decided to try this Reolink system. I can say I was blown away with the quality of the video and audio especially day video. The night video is good but the quality is about average for other systems Ive used. The app is user friendly as well. Set up was simple. Of course running the cable was a chore. Tech support was initially only by email but now is available by phone. The wait time was long but Tech support was very helpful. I have added a couple of Reolink wireless cameras to the NVR and they work great. The only negative thing I have found is the desktop client is not user friendly but it does work. I would love to see Reolink have a web app like Zmodo for viewing from your computer. All in all, I would definitely recommend this system.

> 3 dayI installed this 8 camera system with two additional 8K “turret” style Reolink cameras using Cat6 LAN lines on the outside of my house. Since my house is a single story house with a full finished basement built in the early 70’s, I had to run the lines on the outside of the house. This made some lines around 150-feet long, but this was not a factor and all ten cameras work perfectly. The video quality is awesome and it is easy to adjust the settings for each camera. I have the DVR connected directly to my 75” QLED Samsung TV and the video quality is amazing. The camera’s sound quality is so good that I can even hear myself when I am inside the house with my sliding glass doors closed - by cameras outside that are 10-feet away from the sliding glass doors! I also like to sit inside and watch the cameras that show my bird feeders so I can listen to and watch the birds - which I find very relaxing. I will say that the bullet cameras are more easily adjusted than the turret-style cameras. I prefer using the bullet-style cameras on the outside and the turret-style cameras on the inside of your house. Both have the same video quality and cover the same area (87-degrees wide). The bullet cameras are a little easier to adjust if you are wanting to angle the camera to view certain areas. After reading reviews on this system, I learned that the Amazon Basics wireless mouse works just fine with this system - and it DOES indeed! I sit about 15-feet away from my television and can easily use the mouse to control things while viewing. The DVR has two USB inputs and I have the wireless mouse receiver hooked up to the one in front which, of course, is facing me. So be sure to get this wireless mouse when you buy the system - it is only about $12 and well worth the money spent! The motion detection on these cameras is excellent also. Like any video surveillance system, you will have to adjust the settings so that you do not constantly get reports of movement on your phone APP. Things like spider webs hanging on a camera and blowing in the wind, and shadows of things like flags blowing in the wind, can cause alerts, but this is typical of any surveillance motion detection. I have most of my cameras set on very low detection settings because I live in a forested area and only want to pick up larger things - like humans and cars, and not animals. If you need to to detect smaller movement this system has no problem doing that! I did have problems getting the system to connect to email, but that is not a problem to me since I don’t want alerts sent to my email - I would rather be notified on my phone, and the Reolink APP does that very well. If I wanted the email alerts I have no doubt I could figure that problem out easily enough, but again, it is not an issue for me. The Reolink APP works flawlessly on my iPhone and I use it to control the motion detection settings. I also use the APP on my iPad and the video looks great on that also. Playback of stored video is also very easy to do, using either the DVR or the Reolink APP. I plan to ad a few more cameras on the inside the house. I currently have 10 set up outside of the house so I still have room to set up 6 more, which is more than what I will need. This is a very solid security system and I have not had ANY problems at all. All cameras worked the first time I plugged them into the DVR - and this was after I had to learn how to hookup and connect CAT6 LAN lines myself. All cameras also have waterproof connection covers to cover the LAN wire where it connects to the camera outside - and these work great. This is not the first surveillance system I have had, but it is easily the best and the easiest I have ever installed. I am very happy with it and I would highly recommend it to anyone! UPDATE: After 4 months of use, sometimes even in weather as cold as 0-degrees (F), this system has been flawless. I am about to add three Reolink 4K PTZ cameras which cost about $250 each - I would not spend that kind of money if I wasn’t so impressed with the system I bought. I HIGHLY recommend this system!

> 3 dayUPDATE- The NVR failed and a camera too after 75 days of purchase. Had to pay for return shipping and though Reolink helped me replace the product, the return shipping costs were too exorbitant. Quality control in the product can be much better. The package arrived on time in a single large box. Inside the box there were three rectangular and smaller boxes - two with the cameras and accessories like(cat 5 cables, screws, stickers) and the third one with the NVR and it’s power brick. Feedback to note here is that the Cat5 cables included are very poor quality and not worth it. Ended up using my own Cat6 cables. IP/PoE Cameras: The picture quality is great during day time. Very clear. Night vision with Infrared was not great. Very mediocre. You can improve the camera capability in night mode by adding ambient lighting to your property. Note: Out of the 8 cameras I received one was dead in a few hours. Poor quality control I guess. NVR/Video Recorder: Comes with a power supply brick that is enough to build a home. Large, bulky and poor quality from a make and feel as well. The NVR is powered by a Seagate disk of 3 TB. Works well but you can hear the MVR heat dissipation fan running in the background. Not quiet by any means. Product Support: Reached out to them to get a product replacement for a camera which was dead. Received an email fairly quickly but am still awaiting next steps on replacement etc. Will update this review based on what goes next. Still within my return window, so will return this if the support is not making the on their two year warranty. Conclusion: Good camera quality during the day. Build quality and service support - not up to standards. If you are on a budget go for it, else recommend scaling up to better products.

> 3 dayFor as good of the reviews are for this product I really expected a lot more. Fair warning for those looking, Reolink has updated this listing with a new product. The old 16 channel 8 camera system had different cameras. So almost all the reviews are for the old system without person detection. Thats not fair that amazon allows that to happen, but that is what it is. Now, as far as standard motion detection goes, these cameras are worthless to me for motion sensing. At very low settings, they pick up shadows of trees swaying in the wind. On a partly cloudy day, the sun going in and out of clouds changes the light conditions and marks it as motion. In bright sunlight, the main part of the picture is fine but anything in a shadow is too dark regardless of how you adjust exposure settings. Now the good, set up is easy. I had someone install them for me but I set up the cameras (I wanted the wires ran in the attic) The images are so clear when the conditions are right. License plates are easily readable. Night time image are fairly good in low light situations. Hope you dont have to reach out to their tech support. Its email only and very slow. The issues that I had unfortunately are not resolved so its kind of a meh purchase. Thought it would be an upgrade and for the few pros, the cons bring it back down. Not sure what all the hype about this system is for really being more mediocre.
