Set this drive up in a customers older laptop, and it helped revive what may have ended up being a laptop in the trash! These drives are amazingly fast, even in a computer that might not be able to handle their full performance. At my shop, Ive installed these Evo drives in at least a half dozen older computers and the customers have been amazed at the speed of the boot up, going from minutes to seconds.

I have a Macbook pro 2007 early model and it was becoming very slow at first reading the HDD and then writing into the HDD. Then it took forever to boot so I bought this SSD because of the ratings and the reviews. It fitted perfectly into the macbook pro, I suggest to buy the housing for it because it will stay loose if you install it without it, and the installation of Sierra was a breeze. It runs smoothly and the read or write speeds are insanely fast. It revived my laptop.

I should have looked around, because there are numerous forum posts about this not being compatible with Macbooks. It ran OK in my 2011 Macbook, and ran faster when I enabled TRIM support. However, it started giving me some very scary disk io errors, which got worse and worse. Luckily, Ive been pretty vigilant with backups, but now Im worried about bitrot, especially with HFS+. This thing started giving me read errors one month after I could no longer return it, so Im going to see if I can RMA it. If you value your data, dont take the risk! Update: Not since the early 90s have people been expected to low-level format their hard drives! Nor should I be expected to run some magic software to prevent my hard drive from failing! I understand that it may not run optimally, but, I think it is reasonable to expect that I can put my hard drive into a computer and not have it die from regular use!

Had this for over a year in a 5 year old Lenovy y570 and it made everything run astronomically faster than a regular harddrive (both 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives). I barely have space left on my 250gb ssd and its still running super fast.

Replaced my 128GB with this. Used the included cloning software to perfectly replace Windows 8.1 OS. Just plugged in the cloned drive after it was done. I cloned the system in 10 minutes and was up and running

Works great on Apple Pro. If you do not yet have SSD you will be surprised.Not sure how hard it is to install had local shop do it for $100, kept old drive for USB backup
