Greater than one weekVery fast RAPID works well with 16GB, I cant recall if it requires it or not, I dont think it does, but it is recommended. Anyway, enabled RAPID with windows 8.1 on my laptop and boots within 10 seconds easily.

> 3 dayWhat a horrible experience on macbook pro mid 2012 with el capitan. First of all, disk utilities does not find it, since TRIM is not enabled, and when you enable it, it still cannot find it. Solution: swapping ssd, network recovery mode->disk utilities, formatting ssd as journaled, installing mountain lion from internet and from your apple id, running latest carbon copy cloner from hdd boot, and moving everything, and enabling trim with another software. YOU NEED A SATA CABLE. (I detached it from my Seagate hdd, make sure it is compatible). BACKUP! And samsung junk softwares on CD, and in fact the whole ssd, are not OSX compatible. Good news, faster, but not as fast as stated(see pic, consider the samsung ssd pro version) Bad news The laptop, not the ssd, gets hot (also upgraded to 16gb crucial ram) Hope it help!

> 3 dayI purchased this to replace a 5400 rpm drive in my new Dell Inspiron 5548 Laptop. The increase in overall speed was amazing. Installation was easy as well.

> 3 dayBought this for my Mac Pro 2012 Tower along with the Newer Technology AdaptaDrive and both of those items work like expected. Very easy to install. It took about 10 minutes. My old tower is now young and peppy again. The drive is fast and quiet and 250GB is big enough to hold my operating system (El Capitan) with plenty of left over space.

Greater than one weekMy MacBook now SCREAMS! Now, granted, I removed the SuperDrive, moved the existing hard drive into its slot, removed the 8 gig of RAM and installed 16 gigs of RAM, and put this Samsung 850 EVO into the slot where the existing hard drive was, but man, my computer flies now. Complete boot up on 25 seconds flat. To be honest, I really think that the BIGGEST difference was in upgrading from 8 gig of RAM to 16 gig, but using this SSD drive as my primary drive only helped. IF I have to choose between using the existing hard drive OR 16 gigs of RAM, I would upgrade the RAM. The difference between 8 and 16 gigs of RAM, or 8 gigs of RAM with this SSD drive is VERY significant. I know, because I upgraded the SSD drive first, then did the RAM upgrade later. Even so, great purchase, and ZERO issues with this SSD drive.

> 3 daySolid State Drives are the way to go. There is no reason to use a spinning disk these days. Ive put several of these in old, slow computers to breathe a few more years life into them. Theyre awesome at that. For average users, so much of the responsiveness of a computer seems to be driven by disk access these days that I usually recommend to friend and family to put a solid state disk in before upgrading anything else.

> 3 dayI have two 850 500GB and two 860 500GB. When I run benchmarks the 850 (older model) always is neck-and-neck with the 860 500GB. I use my computer a lot more than most people and reformat and re-image many times in a year. In my opinion they are equal. Maybe in time the 850 will slow down read/write but still going strong after four years. The 860 is only a year old. I have to say this to anyone who want a boost for the computer. Go Samsung SSD either 250 GB to 1 TB and use the SATA Models. They are wonderful for all kinds of use, especially when you have this adapter cable for USB connection. I highly recommend the backwards compatible 3.1 USB Adapter below. Makes backing up your system or just user files a piece of cake onto any size SSD. https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-SATA-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1546839584&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=usb+3.1+ssd+adapter&psc=1
