SAMSUNG (MZ-V7E500BW) 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology, Black/Red

I was going into this upgrade on my sons machine thinking I was going to need to do a clean install of windows, which I wasnt looking forward to. However, I thought I would give Samsungs data migration tool a chance, hey, what could I lose? Well I am super excited to say it was an amazingly simple and effective tool. Copied my sons boot drive from an HDD to the NVMe SSD and it worked flawlessly. Made the whole process so simple. Definitely need to get my machine one of these!

I had no trouble with this product on both Windows 10 and Linux. I recommend it.

I needed more space for games and wanted something easy to install and separate from the SSD my Windows install is on. This worked perfectly. If it doesnt show up when you install it just google a formatting guide. I had to format it to actually use it but other than that I have no complaints.

So I bought this to replace the GARBAGE optane/HDD drive combo that I had in my Alienware and it has made a difference already. I have 3500 Read and 2700 Write and I could never ask for more. I clean installed on my Alienware and Its everything you could ask for. I will be just buying M.2s from Samsung ESPECIALLY when the 2 TB goes down in price. I would encourage everyone to get one of these installed in their windows computer. There is no reason to be running a SATA SSD/HDD anymore. The time of the M.2 is here and Im letting it be a part of my build. Next I will put in a card with 4 M.2 Slots so I can continue to have those unreal speeds! If you are even considering using an M.2 drive in your next pc build just know that the Samsung 970 Evo is such a great selection. My computer hits the login screen faster than anything I have ever seen. M.2s in general are very cool and if you want to make sure that your build has longevity you want to make sure to use one like this.

if you dont have one of those little m.2 hardware kits or your own screws it will work just stick out other than that AWESOME PERFORMANCE AND EXTREMLY FAST SHIPPING TIME!

This 1TB NVME M.2 Samsung 970 Evo is a Beast. Im still using it on my X99A Gaming 7 Mobo and booting my Windows 10 from it. Start time is < 25sec. It does suffer from heat throttling at times. Ive tested this on multiple occasions. I strongly recommend adding an M.2 Heatsink, M.2 Liquid Cooling block, or simply having better air circulation to this to mitigate high temperature throttling. Overall, Im definitely happy about this buy. 5/5 rating

For the cost/speed ratio, this is a good bargain! One of the faster nvme drives for under $100! Boots Mojave in about 12 seconds!
