03-06-2025No complaints at all, lightning fast SSDs that boot up my computer in 5 seconds and that run installs of even multigigabyte games like Destiny 2 in minutes.

> 3 dayThe only thing that’ll be faster is the evo plus even so I got a TB of one and it’s insanely fast as is if you need a ssd there’s reasons to say to other m.2s but there’s not a single reason to say no to this lean mean machine

> 3 dayThese need to be run using AHCI and not raid, otherwise you cannot run Samsung Magician to update firmware. Plus maximum speed requires AHCI. Problem is poor documentation from Samsung and many comments on the web makes you think changing from raid to AHCI is difficult. It is not and does not require reinstalling Windows 10. Just make sure you have a local Win 10 account and log in with it. Upgrade your BIOS if needed. Turn off your computer. Install the SSD. You will need a screw that is not supplied. Turn your computer back on. Clone your current boot hard drive with Macrium Reflect Free version. Double check to ensure you are in a local account. Turn your computer off. Disconnect power from the old hard drive. Turn computer on. It should boot from new SSD. Triple check to ensure you on using a local account. Type MSCONFIG in the search box near Start button. Go to the boot tab. Check safemode with network. It will ask to restart. Restart computer and enter BIOS to change from RAID to AHCI. Save BIOS changes and reboot. Type in MSCONFIG and uncheck safe mode. Reboot. You are done. Install Samsung Magician and upgrade firmware. For some reason it will fail. Exit Samsung Magician and try again and it will work. You are now really done. These work great but I dropped the star for poor documentation from Samsung. By the way, I am not a genius. I found this on the web. But as others pointed out using MSCONFIG is easier than using command mode to change boot settings.
