Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

This gave new life to my laptop with an i3 processor. Startup takes a few seconds and programs load almost instantaneously. It wont speed up your surfing on the web, but all programs on laptop load extremely quick. Using an adapter cable and Samsungs data management software cloning the old drive was extremely easy. Since I was installing the same size drive there were like 3 steps to clone. With a USB 3 port it took about 3 hours to clone a 500 gb drive.

Its a solid product. Through and through. In fact, even the Samsung SSDs that I have had for years are still going strong. Awesome performance. Awesome price.

After upgrading my Mac Mini I decided to see what a new hard drive would do for my MacBook Pro Early 2011 would do. Purchase, formatted, and cloned the drive using the internal options of the Mac OS. Did not check to see if the drive was encrypted and ran into issues. Erased the drive remove the encryption on the original drive and cloned a second time. The device booted and ran the system and at that point, I decided to install in the machine. Very, very, very happy. The response times are as quick as my new Macbook Pro or my Mac Mini but, I am thrilled at the speed and responsiveness. I am not going to blame the drive because the machine is not as fast as my newer devices because this one is limited to 8GB Ram where the other two devices are equipped with at least 16GB Ram. Worth the time, effort, and money.

No troubles with any Samsung SSD that I bough....still have 2 512GBs (840pros) running in my computer, and 850EVO and this 860EVO for my sons machine. No troubles......would never buy anything but Samsung.

I play a lot of video games and this SSD gives me longer loading times than others I have used. I have compared it to a Hybrid drive and it was about the same speed. It obviously doesnt come close to an NVMe SSD, but it does beat an old HDD. So if youre looking for a budget SSD I would keep your eyes on this one, especially if your not gaming. Also, it is a good price for the quality. I would recommend this SSD as a very safe purchase and you wont be upset.

My 5 year old Dell Inspiron desk top is like new. Installed on my assistants desk top in January. 1 T and man it is lighting fast now. If you have a lot of files and data like mine, It took along time to transfer date. 5 hours to do so. Did it today, 7.16.20. Best $139 I ever spent on updating a computer over the past 40 years.

Purchased two of these (one for each of the two laptops in the household) to use for boot drives. Much faster than the old hard drives, and with a fresh install of Windows 10 (win 10 and Linux on one the computers), the boot time is much faster and overall performance improved. This is one way to bring new life to aging personal computers...

This SS drive has performed as advertised. It was easy to install and format. The drive is fast. Have not had any problems since installing it.

The samsung 860 EVO SSD or any solid state made by samsung assures the best quality. Ever since Ive started using SSD hard drives, I have been recommending this type of HD. This replaces any hard drive with a SATA connection. If replacing a desktop Hard Drive, all that is needed is a SATA mounting bracket for it to fit. Ive been using a few of this for the last several years and not one has failed me yet, compared to other brands.
