> 3 dayGo big or go home. Just buy this SSD. If you use your computer for work, the loading times for your applications and files will not even exist. I have 2 of these 860 EVOs, 500gb and 1tb, and Ill be sending one to my father soon. If you use a computer for work, this really is an investment. Pay now for faster loading speeds but benefit from more work done indefinitely.

> 3 dayFirstly, to get my computer to recognize this right click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management > Right click unrecognized drive and format > Be sure to select the correct cluster size > Ok. Back in the day you could plug it in, right click your HD under My Computer and format.

> 3 dayIt arrived well packaged and ready to install with directions for the necessary software download to copy the old drive. I ran the Samsung Magician first and then the Data Migration . When done, the drive was ready to install and worked without any further steps on my part. Result 8 year old laptop is frisky again.

Greater than one weekI used this disk to replace a 1Tb Samsung hard drive (the system disk) on a Linux system I was able to copy my original to this one using Clonezilla, and it booted immediately. I was amazed how fast it was! I decided to freshly install Ubuntu 20.04 on it and again, it worked well and was much faster than the standard hard drive. Ive had no problems at all with this SSD!
