> 3 dayI used this for my 2012 Macbook pro, it made startup time about 3-5 times faster and adding storage also quicker. The one thing is, if you are attempting this same or similar task, it was kind of difficult to format the hard drive before installation, ahem, thanks apple. Other than that this is a great SSD.

> 3 dayI was getting slower than advertised speeds no matter what I tried so I did some googling and I found out why. My BIOS was set to IDE instead of AHCI or RAID. The IDE setting is the slower setting to allow your computer to run those slower drives back in 1992. AHCI or RAID is the newer faster setting. BUT do NOT just go change the setting in your BIOS if you already have windows installed, I did that and my computer just runs in a loop restarting over and over again. You have 2 options.....1st option is to format the new SSD drive and set the setting in your BIOS to AHCI or RAID and then you can proceed to install windows....orrr

Greater than one weekI’ve ordered this SSD Samsung 860 Evo to replace my old hard disk on my Dell 2011 laptop and it was my best investment so far.

> 3 dayAnother reviewer wrote that your harddrive is the bottleneck...they are 100% correct. I almost bought more RAM for my 5 yr old workstation laptop, Im so glad I saw this item in my Amazon suggestions because I wouldve wasted my precious $ -- I still might get more RAM some day but this did the trick for now.

> 3 dayI like that the 860 EVO is highly rated to be very dependable and reliable. The software lets you determine your trim schedule, or you can do this manually. I use the 860 EVO for my 3d applications such as, blender, daz studio, poser.

> 3 dayDoes exactly what it says - a fast SSD with no issues. I bought two - an 860 and an 870 for different purposes. Well worth the money. No issues!

> 3 dayMy Lenovo W550s laptop had a conventional 500 MB hard disk drive (HDD) when I bought it 4 years ago. I had since upgraded the memory to 16 GB, but the laptop still takes about 5 minutes or longer to boot. It became too painful to wait so long to work on the laptop. So finally, I decided to replace the HDD with a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD. I used a data migration tool that I downloaded from Samsungs SSD website. It was the simplest migration tool that I ever used and took just over 1 hour to clone the original drive. After installing the new SSD, my laptop booted without errors. Now the laptop runs more smoothly than it ever did. I dont have to dread turning it on because I can start working on it in less than 1 minute. All applications start and run without delays. I am very happy so far with the performance I am getting out of the SSD from Samsung.

> 3 dayEasy to install if you have a computer guy. He ordered it for me and cloned the old hard disk onto this one and it works just fine. I have had it for several weeks. What would I do without a computer guy?
