Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

It seems that Samsung has had recent quality issues with some of these. I didnt check on line until after I got the defective one, and could have seen the issues. I returned the defective one with no hassles, a replacement was sent, and it installed and works flawlessly. Read on line comments about the level of defects before you purchase a larger capacilty drive.....it seems that those are still having issues.

For about $120 I got this and a mounting bracket to install it in a 3.5 drive bay. Its the best investment Ive made in my computer for a while. There is a noticeable increase in speed of boot up, directory access and application start-up. Some applications also run faster. To be fair, I replaced a ten year old 630GB hard disk that had a minuscule 16meg on-board catch - if youre running something more modern you probably wont see as much gain as I did. None the less, I suspect any HDD to SSD conversion will yield some speed gain.

Changing the spinning HDD on an HP laptop that was a few years old gave the machine new life. Cold start to usable state (Word open & ready) went from 4+ minutes to just under 30 seconds. An outstanding upgrade. Of course everything else works faster too; albeit, web surfing can depend more on your ISPs speed than the computers performance. Notwithstanding, the overall responsiveness of the machine is significantly better with an SSD. Samsungs downloadable software makes cloning the old drive to the SSD a breeze.

It was recommended to me by a fortune apple tech. Super easy install with him coaching me through it. Township plays much better. No stalling switching from 1 app to another.

I had to download software to mirror the old drive to the new one. Also needed a hard drive adapter to plug into the usb port to transfer the old drive information the the new one. After installing the new drive I put the old one away for a backup in case something happened to the new one.

I really like this SSD. It is very fast compared to my old HDD. I had absolutely no problems when cloning my HDD to this SSD. Once I did clone it and booted using my new SSD, the speed was absolutely amazing. Would recommend a hundred times over!

Hard drive was going out in my wife’s laptop. Ordered this to fix it. Starts up in less than 10 seconds. Love it!

I put this in my ps4 pro and it was a big difference. The only hard thing was formatting it because sony website instructions are not that clear on the reinstall But eventually I figured it out and can complete with the big boys.
