Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

The SSD was faster then any past Hard Drives. Despite the Drive working okay, Samsung did a sloppy job with the Software you can download from there website. The Software wasnt even able to recognize the Drive. If you Buy this, dont waste your drive space by downloading the Samsung Software, just plug the SSD to PC & let your PC recognize it. Despite Samsung a little sloppy this is 1 of the only SSDs most can afford. Its faster then Hard Drives at least.

I bought this drive from Amazon, but it was apparently sold by Samsung . . . though I cannot really tell for sure who the seller was. I purchased this New drive back in April, but didnt get around to installing it until July. Unfortunately, because of that . . . I am not eligible for a refund. I intended for this to be a mirror drive for my old computers OS drive. The thing is, when I booted the computer up with this drive installed, it had someone elses stuff! It is someone named Morgan. The drive, as you can see, has Morgans pay stubs in Adobe. Unbelievable! I never, in my wildest imagination, thought I could purchase a New drive from Amazon, and be sold a Used Drive. Who would have thunk? My faith in Amazon is greatly shaken. Next time, if I buy another drive from Amazon (there is a good chance I will never purchase a hard drive from Amazon again), but if I do, I will be sure to unbox it and check it out as soon as I receive it. It never dawned on my that they would sell me a Used Drive at a New Drive price. If you buy Hard Drives from Amazon, BEWARE! Make sure you check them out immediately.

Significant improvement to performance on seven year old laptop. Windows 11 starts up in a few seconds, computer feels better than new.

I ordered mine on December 21, 2019 for $109.99. My Samsung 840 PRO SATA SSD mostly died after five years of use (it would no longer boot windows 10).

I moved my Lightroom catalog to the external SSD to make it more portable. Turns out with USB3 it is actually faster than my 5400rpm internal drive so it was a win-win for my use. Will be ordering another one to use to back up the first one.

Excellent drive, the best free cloning software I’ve ever used. Great value for the money compared to others in this class. SSD’s can literally breathe new life into computers 8 years old.

Installed this SSD so I can install a second Windows 10 on my desktop PC so my grandchild could play games without affecting my desktop PC - from this point of view it was perfect - no problem installing in my desktop box, no problem in installing a second OS and no problem in dual booting.

Evidently I have one of the AMD Processors that Samsung doesnt like. Drive will lock up randomly for 2 to 3 minutes at a time. It happens several times a day. My processor is AMD FX 6300 Six core 3.5 GHz. From what I have read online it is a read/write problem so the drive just hangs. None of the fixes online have worked. Evidently this is a known issue. I am a gamer and there is a big difference while gaming with this drive. That is the only reason I keep it. When it doesnt lock up and kill me. YMMV.

So far, I am happy with the hard dish. Its running fast, and no problem at all.

This drive is unbelievable!! My old one was about 6 years and would take about 4 minutes to turn on. I would open folders with pictures and spend 10 seconds for a file to open and close. Now my laptop turns in less than 30 seconds and I can multi task and fly through folders... I highly recommend this Samsung SSD. I bought a second one for my wifes computer and the same results. Smooth, quick and painless to install and now my old one is my full backup .... Rick
