Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

I upgraded from my old hard drive and as most people have mentioned, start-up times are far faster. So are load times for programs. Very easy install, but I am experienced in building my own boxes.

More of a person to install than it shouldve been but that had more to do with things on my end. Once I had it installed, it worked perfectly.

No mounting screws. The Samsung program didnt work and we had to down load a trial of another program.

I installed the Mac operating system on the SSD and ran a read-write bench test. The results were pathetic. I ran the disk utility first aid and it came back with so many bad sections it told me it couldnt list them all. I erased the SSD, reinstalled the OS X and got the same result. I contacted Samsung and the discussion we had led to the conclusion the unit was defective. To confirm my suspicions I installed a 1 TB 860 EVO SSD in the MacBook Pro and the numbers matched another MacBook Pro of the same year, model and hardware configuration.

Samsung 1TB SSD drive made laptop work so fast, incredible just didnt know what I was missing. Boot times and general processes are speedy. So far very happy, from now on, no mechanical HDs.

Nothing better for an old computer than a new SSD. Ive used these many times, always with great results. And, they work equally well in desktops and laptops. I have several in use at work, up and running for 3 years now.

I was skeptical after reading reviews of getting a refurbished/open box/tamperd with unit. Luckily, I received a mint condition new, double sealed samsung packaged drive. Perfect. 500gb. This review is after 1 week of use.

Now that I finally solved my cloning issues this SSD drive rocks. I moved everything off of my old mechanical Seagate Barrcuda 1Tb over to my new EVO 860 1Tb. My impression is that this PCs IO is ate least 4 - 6 times faster as a result.

I bought three of these drives after reading reviews. The price was excellent and I wanted SSDs. I am tired of mechanical drive failures and the speed bottlenecks. Now video and audio production flow is smooth. File transfers happen at amazing speeds. I could get into the speed testing results, but everyone has a different setup they are using these drives in. I am running a 10 core Windows 10 Pro computer with a Godlike Carbon Motherboard. Installed is a M.2 Samsung Drive for the operating system with 128 GBs of memory. I split the memory in two and created a 64 GB Ramm Disk for a scratch drive. Next up, 2 GTX 1080 Video Cards and an external audio interface. Removing any possible bottlenecks was the goal here. Thanks Samsung ....slow speed is not an issue here.
