Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

What can one say? This is 2Gb of one of the best SSDs in the 3D MLC space money can buy. Faster, more reliable, than the others. Just plug in and go. Used this to replace its predecessor, a 1 Gb 840 thatd been in service for 7+ years in three differing laptops over that time. When I get my next laptop in 6-18 months, the 4Gb unit in the current or next lineup will likely be going into the unit, out of box, along with whatever 1-4 TB NVMe stick drive Samsungs offering.

Nice and fast. Used primarily for OS boots but still fast. Easy to install. Definitely recommend.

The Samsung EVO 860 2TB is my 4th SSD. As long as Samsung keeps building these quality SSDs, Ill keep buying them. Well built, durable, easy to install and just plain looks good, too. A definite recommend. (Ill admit I cannot compare to other SSD companies, as I have only purchased Samsung.)

samsungs drives have always been good

It took me only a few minutes to install this drive into my desk top computer. Used in a desk top with a 3.5 drive, you will need a bracket. The data migration software made cloning my old drive very quick and easy. This drive has no moving parts so its completely silent. Runs cool and blazing fast. Windows 7 boots up in about 5 seconds and start up programs load instantly. There is no software disk with this drive. You can easily download the migration software and the Samsung Magician software from the Samsung website. The installation and use manuals are not very helpful but they give bulleted pointers that are good to know. Read the manuals before you install the software. Only time will tell if this drive can compete against 60 years of hard drive technology but so far, its a clear winner.

This SSD is great, its fast and it loads win-10 in less than 15 seconds for sure on my system setup, this SSD has an equivalent of equal Sequential read and write performance levels of up to 550MB/s and 520MB/s.

I was a bit skeptical initially, but porting all my old files to the new SSD was as easy as a switch and about 30 minutes of my time. Super fast and super affordable. Definitely can recommend.

Everyone I have talked says that an SSD is the way to go. After installing this, I tend to agree. The computer runs so much faster now. A word of advice. You will be told that installation is easy and it probably is if you are replacing an existing drive with an SSD. I wanted to keep the existing drive in as a backup (new D:) and make the SSD the new C: drive. That gets to be more complicated as I had to get a new STA cable, move cables around, and a mount for the SSD drive. It was not that difficult but there were no instructions for that. So I would suggest, taking off the cover and inspecting the inside (and maybe get rid of some dust) to make sure of the configuration before placing the order to make sure you have everything you need.
