Unlike other SSD product options, this HD works fine as Super Duper backup source. Time will tell.

Tested and this model was slower than the Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD.

I pulled the drive out of the package and plugged it into a USB port on my Mac. The drive mounted immediately. I copied the contents of the drive to a local directory. I then fired up the Disk Utility app to inspect the drive. It was formatted in exFAT. I reformatted it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). That completed without issue. I then copied a 100 GB VM image to the disk. This all happened in less than 10 minutes. Im very pleased with the drive.

Smaller than expected. Its not heated too much, although worked for hours while writing 100K files. Doesnt achieve nominal speed when writing numerous small sized files.

Im using this SSD for backing up my iMac M1. This SSD replaced two old spinning HDs. The old drives keep disconnecting from my computer, either by moving my computer and thus the cables or perhaps they just felt like disconnecting. Not always a reason. This SSD has not done that once - yet. I reformatted the drive when I received it to APFS for compatibility with my Mac, no issues with that either. I was also able to encrypt this drive after reformatting to APFS, and Im taking advantage of that. The initial backup using Time Machine took maybe 30 minutes, probably less (I have about 300 gb of data on my computer). The subsequent hourly backups take just seconds. The supplied cable, which is about a foot in length, is just right. Its long enough to let this SSD lay on the base of my MAC. I got the dark gray one and it blends into the color of the base and just isnt noticeable. All in all, Im highly satisfied with this SSD, so far. Like I said, Ive only been using it for about a month so I cant speak to durability but I have high expectations it will last for a long time...

VERY HARD YO USE IN BOTH OS PC AN MAC, IF YOU DO SOMETHING IN MAC AND TRY TO USE IN PC YOUR DATA DOES NOT APPEARS, AND VICEVERSA.

Bought it in Sept 2020 and it FAILED in Dec 2020 (I/O device error). Fortunately, my recovery software is able to recover the data, but jeez. Also, the drive kept disconnecting itself from the laptop...which probably led to its failure.
