> 3 dayI have had my fair share of external HDs fail. So when I discovered Samsung, I was thrilled. I purchased several even though it was much more expensive than others. So when it completely failed and I lost ALL the data Id created (at just 4 months! just beyond what Amazon will back/refund) I was directed to talk to Samsung. Their solution was to completely wipe my drive (which would prevent me from at least trying to have the data salvaged), repair the drive (which would mean Id still be trusting a drive that failed) or send me another refurbished drive (again, requiring me to trust a drive thats already failed). Not acceptable to me. I asked for a refund (basically to cover the cost of recovery for my lost data) and they flat out refused. Samsung doesnt back their drives when they fail (and apparently they do!). So if you actually value the work you create, try another drive. :(

> 3 dayKeeps going back to read only after being formatted for time machine. That being said, this piece of crap can only be used as a time machine disk or an external ssd, cant do both at the same time. Will return.

> 3 dayJust spent about 6 hours with Apple tech support as to why this SSD would not work with my M1 Mac. After reinstalling my OS twice, they finally concluded the problem is with the SSD. It turns out that Samsung requires that you install firmware on your Mac to make this operate. This requires going into the startup security utility and modifying the kernel. This is so anti-user-friendly. BTW, my other SSDs are plug and play. Awful design Samsung.

Greater than one weekIt suits my needs perfectly and works well (so far). The only issue is the software if you want to lock your contents. Theres an issue with the Mac OS Ventura which I had to do a bit of research on.
