> 3 dayI have a 55 freshwater tank w/ about 25 fish (mostly tetras, but also a golden rainbow, a rainbow shark, a betta, a 3 spotted gourami and a hybrid cyclid. I have ALWAYS had a problem w/ hi nitrates (my ammonia and nitrites levels are always good) and I treat the water w/ Prime, but those pesky nitrates are an ongoing battle even w/ water changes! I came across this product and figured it was too good to be true, but for the $8, it was certainly worth trying - holy crap, in 48 hours, I had crystal clear water (which wasnt bad to begin w/ ,but again - WOW) and my nitrates were down to 0!! Now, they have not stayed that low, but they are MUCH lower than they ever have been before. And yes, Im sure my battles are due to the amount of fish and the amount of food which I have really cut back on (the food that is), but again, no significant improvement until this product. I also have researched and watched videos on the recharging process. I have not yet done this and dont know if I will considering its basically 1.5 - 2 day process and for the minimal cost, I may just re-purchase - we will see. I have removed all carbon filters from my Fluval 360 so wont have that cost anymore. I wish I had found this 3 years ago when I first started w/ my tank - I (and my fish) are VERY happy campers!

> 3 dayI use this is in my freshwater tank because I have driftwood in it and dont like the color of the water with the tannins. Within 24 hours it made my water look amazing, bright and WHITE if that makes sense. I did try to recharge the Purigen but could never get it back to the colorless stage like it was when it was brand new. I followed all of the directions to a tee. I put it back in my tank and over the course of the next five days I had 5 fish die :( I wont blame it on the Purigen because I did add two new fish around the same time so its possible one of them introduced something nefarious into my tank - however, I wont take a chance with recharging it again I will just use a new packet of Purigen. I have already ordered more and will continue to use because it is slightly costly but it makes a world of difference in the beauty of my aquarium which makes it worth it to me.

Greater than one weekyea so far it seems to be really good, i honestly havent noticed a big change in my tank as far as it is not CLEARER then it was but only because its been set up for a long time and the water stays perfect on it lol I just wanted to add this my marineland diamond blend to add a little extra crisp to it lol the fish seem happier I will say that much their always happy but they seems to be swimming a bit more then normal which is good. my dragon goby is really good and swimming around and seems to be eating more, hes already HUGE, this biggest ive seen in teh stores or in a tank period in person lol but hes older SOOOO BASCIALLY they seem to be more active and are eating more often.. twice a day instead of once now.. so yea I like it..

> 3 dayThe seams were frayed and some of the media was lost. I stitched up the filter bag by hand and put it in the aquarium. My clean water had turned brown. I thought this filter would work to clear it. I needed it immediately so I didn’t return it. So far it has not cleared my aquarium. The canister filter and aquarium had clean water. I don’t know how to clear it. Anyway I will buy another to see if two work.

> 3 dayThis stuff is amazing. I have put driftwood in a tank without boiling it or anything else to remove the tannins and the water goes from the color of tea to perfectly clear in hours to days depending on tank size, clarity and water movement. It is a stunning difference, the fish almost look like they are floating in the air when you use this and it dont cause any issues. If you do aquascaping using driftwood or anything that changes the color of your water, this stuff will remove it 100%. It also has excellent nitrite/nitrate removing abilities with so much surface area for good bacteria. Just put it in any filter that has room. It just has to have water moving around it to work best but water does not have to pass through it like a normal filter to remove tannin, nitrite/nitrates. It absorbs them but does not have much impact on good minerals and other essentials.I use it in my 5 tanks from 10 gallons up to 60 gallons, in both canister and hanging filters. Just place it with other filter media you use. You will be amazed. I have tried a few other high end methods but for $8 this does it better than anything else I have tried by a long shot. It is cheap, lasts for months and you can just clean it (they provide instructions) and use it again and again. It is so cheap I just buy another bag as needed ever 3 to 6 months.

> 3 dayIt does exactly what it advertises, and you honestly don’t know crystal clear water until you have used this. But, I tried to regenerate this and it was a no go! I followed the instructions to a T and even let it soak in conditioned water for 2 days and still couldn’t get rid of the bleach smell. I ended up tossing it and buying another one but the upside is it will last for a few months so at most you’re spending $11 every few months for a new one. Not a bad deal!

> 3 dayExcellent; highly recommended!! I’m running a 75 gal high tech freshwater planted aquarium, with a 20 gal mechanical/bio sump. I run the Purigen and some (polishing) filter floss in an old cascade 700 canister filter that recirculates the sump water. Seachem says 500 ml is good for a couple hundred gal aquarium, so needless to say it took less than an hour to completely clear-up the water. I’m also running a 36 watt UV sterilizer in-line with the return. I’ll see how long I can go between water changes and report back.

> 3 dayAmazing! Crystal clear water, happy fish, and results with Tetra water test strips are perfect in all parameters of measurements .. something that has never happened before. Ive ordered two more as backups. **UPDATE** June 29 2017: this stuff is the best! I test my tank water every 7 days, and so far the numbers have stayed well within the good range since using this product. Have only done 2 water changes, and of course had to vacuum. Changed out original Purigen pack and replaced with a new one, and have also regenerated the old one. I am still amazed. Do yourself .. and your fish ... a huge favor, and try this product.
