> 3 dayI bought this product because the tannins from my wood turns my tank tea colored, and it was driving me crazy. (Yes, I know it can be beneficial for the tank but I hated the water color) The good: - The product came packaged nicely - Easy instructions to follow and fit just fine in my HOB filter - **kept my tank looking nice and clear so far** The not so great (and its a big one IMO) - Mine had a hole in the side seam, and after rinsing the bag as instructed and placing it in my filter BOOM about a tablespoons worth of micro beads everywhere in my newly cleaned tank. Thank goodness I caught it and pulled the bag out of the filter before ALL of the beads came out. HOWEVER I was able to flip the bag upside down so that the side with the hole was not in contact with water. Overall, its doing great clearing up my tank from the tannins of my driftwood but I would be careful to check for holes along the seams of the bag

> 3 dayThis product is totally awesome! I am a newbie to saltwater aquariums and wanted to start small with a 13g tank. I thought I was being diligent in its maintenance but could never get the water to clear up or keep ahead of the algae growth. I had the water tested numerous times and purchased various products recommended by my fish guy with no success. Then I ran into this product on Amazon and read the reviews so thought I would give it a try. This product cleared up my water in no time, no more fuzzy water. It is crystal clear and my fish are loving it!

> 3 dayThis stuff is so awesome. works fast and easy to install... especially when the 100 ml size already comes with a mesh bag. For my own tastes I dumped the purigen beads into a larger bag (got 2 for 4 bucks on amazon) that I could better spread the beads out in (to help it conform to the shape of your filter). Stuck the bag in my aqueon quietflow 10 filter in addition to the regular replaceable filter and it didnt hamper flow enough to cause any problems. After a day my water was completely clear. Make sure if you buy filter media bag for this stuff, the mesh is at least 200 microns or less... ideally 180 microns or less.

> 3 dayWorks as advertised: pulls tannins out of the water quickly, as well as waste, medications, and some fine particles, and doesnt seem to affect my plant fertilizers at all. It can also be reused multiple times without the effect being reduced. Ive used this in my 20 gallon community tank for about two months without issue, and just bought another for my shrimp tank. Took a star off since this second order arrived with some of the beads escaping from it, through a small hole in the bag, but I fixed it by placing the purigen inside of another filter bag.

> 3 dayI will say this product is amazing. I am a beginner in the realm of marine tanks. I have a 29 gallon tank and i placed the purigen in the HOB filter. I have refreshed the purigen about 3 times now using the recomended bleach and water solution. I have had no issues with this product and i really think it helps me maintain my tank. My fish tank is overstocked with fish, contains live rock and a clean up crew. I use the fluval c4 HOB filter, as well as a air powered skimmer. Just added a HOB refugium that i made out of an old penguin 350. Again, purigen is amazing!!! And i highly recomend it. You can easily buy 1 pack and have it last a long time with refreshes in bleach. Buy two, and that way you always have one in the tank, while you refresh the other. I would guess i go about 2-3 months between refreshes. They say the beads will turn black, mine turn more of a reddish brown. perhaps i could let it turn more black, but i noticed by the reddish brown time frame, my water parameters start to get out of wack.

> 3 daySeachem Purigen is the only chemical filtration I ever use. It is as effective as activated carbon, but with none of the downsides. Purigen can be used for about 12 months, and after that, it can be recharged with household bleach and reused (follow instructions). It also does not clog and release harmful substances back into the water, like carbon does. Every serious aquarist should be aware of this product and use it when needed.

> 3 dayDoes what I got it for. Removes the brown. Plunk it in your filter basket. Easy as pie. I regenerated twice (a bit of a pain, but it’s nice to have the option - I hate single use products)
