Sennheiser HD 600 - Audiophile Hi-Res Open Back Dynamic Headphone

I have tried many headphones over the years and most add some colour to the music, whether it be too much bass, as most are now, or a little over the top on tinny treble. These are the most neutral phones I have ever heard and a joy to listen with. With the price at around £200 these have got to be the best bang for your buck if you want neutral sounding headphones.

I bought these headphones to use with my Yamaha CSP-170 digital piano, which has extremely realistic piano sounds, including a Yamaha CFX concert grand piano and a Bӧsendorfer Imperial grand piano, among numerous other instruments, so I wanted headphones to do justice to this fantastic instrument. I compared them to the following headphones: Sennheiser HD 599, Beyerdynamic DT 880, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, and Sony MDR-V600. To my ears, the sound and staging of the HD 600s is significantly superior to all of the other headphones I tested out. So, from a sound quality standpoint, these headphones definitely get 5 stars.

These are so amazing. I did a lot of homework before purchasing new headphones. First, understand you will need a headphone amp to power these. I have a Schitt Magni 3 (about $100) to. power these. For the price, these are fantastic. They are very neutral (no big bass or high treble). I did buy a Schitt Loki EQ to tinker with sound, but you really dont need it, The crispness of these headphones is what will astonish you. You hear so much you never heard before when using these. That said, if the recording source is poor (from the studio. mixing, etc), you will hear that too, but thats not the headphones fault. These are my second Sennheiser purchase, and I would not consider any other brand. These. are the best.

These headphones are incredible for their price range. Great dynamics on these guys. Definitely recommended.

They are generally as comfortable as an $80 pair of crappy headphones. The sound quality is great but the discomfort of the stock ear pads and the head cushions almost spoils this product for me.
