Greater than one weekIf youve heard anything about these headphones, youll know just how much people like them. If these are in your budget, just get them. Youll have zero regrets.

> 3 dayThese headphones are amazing. The only problem is that when I used them on my iphone 4s, I found I couldnt get a full sound without a headphone amp. Seeing as that is not a problem as much as it is a reality, I give these headphones 5 stars.

> 3 dayI bought the HD600 because I wanted some open-back headphones to listen to classical music on. The reviews promised a lot and I wasnt disappointed and they are everything I hoped they would be. Not really recommended for bass-heads but with their light touch they excel with acoustic, chamber music and orchestra.

> 3 dayHeard them a few times along the way, and always liked them. Now that I bought a pair, I can tell you that you can hear every picked string, but the highs dont glare and bite. Very relaxed but accurate treble. Some say they dont have bass, on SS amps they start going down at 75 Hz, by 35 Hz down about 8 db. They have excellent taut bass., low impact missing. However on OTL tube amps they are flat to 35 Hz. Very cohesive sound. You have to fork out for the Senn 800 or high buck planars to get better sound. Also a snap to migrate to balanced connections which with my Ragnarok gives more attack in the bass, better instrument separation, and more air/soundstage. In the hobby for 45 years and these are one of the 5 best price/performance deals Ive seen. Additional comments: Fostex-FH500, bought these here refurb, nice for female vocals, and mids, but low bass and treble beyond 12k? HD-600 smokes them, and in overall cohesion and ease of driving. Massdrop TH-X00: Supposedly a match for headphones in the 750-1k bracket. Too much low bass, too much treble, bright at higher than 90 db levels, very efficient and easy to drive. Oh yeah, both are more comfortable then the HD-600 (big head). After break-in, and new pads, both are sitting unused and will be sold, HD-600 wins again.

> 3 dayFinally, headphones to compete with the best of the ear buds. Maybe they dont generate the volume of the Shure 530s or quite the bass response but they are soooo comfortable with superb sound for either music or movies.

07-04-2025These headphones are truly amazing, highly revealing but not glaringly overbright or fatiguing when listened to over a long period. Indeed if you have been fortunate to listen to electrostatic loudspeakers which ,at least for Quad 988s, are full range drivers like these headphones you will experience a similar neutral presentation . I have always had a love-hate relationship with headphones on the one hand disliking the in head presentation , worse decades ago listening to vinyl and unable to ignore noise of a dirty groove but on the other appreciating the intimate nature of listening to the sung, or spoken voice a good radio play for example.

01-04-2025All these reviews are correct. These are the most comfortable headphones youll ever wear. They have the cleanest, clearest sound. But the durability is a terrible problem! I have two pairs of 580s, and one has been back 3 times and the other 2 times. The problem is the jacks that connect the cable to the headphone eventually get loose, causing the earpieces to cut out. Both are now out of commission again. All the great sound and comfort in the world will do no good if they dont play... (5 stars for sound, 5 stars for comfort, and 0 stars for reliability)
