Sennheiser HD 600 - Audiophile Hi-Res Open Back Dynamic Headphone

The box where the headphones were was loose maybe someone opened the box or something.

Having been a buyer of Sennheiser products for over 10 years, I feel it is time I endorse a product I truly believe in, and have never been let down by. Including service and customer satisfaction.

Love love love. High regarded in the audio engineering scene. I use it to mix when Im mobile or I cant be loud for various reasons. Ive noticed the price fluctuates a lot on these. Try to catch them when theyre in the $200s. Mine were $271

I need an amp and a Dac for these headphones

just got it, and I just burned it for a couple of days, so cant say much about the audio quality for now. But I did try some 3D sounds on youtube. I bought a very cheap amp ($90, have no money), but the 3D sounds are AMAZING with this thing. Theres NO difference between whats in the headphones and real life sound. I know they are fake sounds but you cant help turning your head! There is a very noticeable difference between these headphones and other ones I tried

Circa 20 anni decisi di lasciare la mia vecchia e gloriosa AKG K240 monitor per una cuffia di livello superiore e dopo diversi ascolti fra la varie cuffie decisi di acquistare una delle prime Sennheiser HD 600. Fu quello che si dice un acquisto impegnativo per le mie finanze ma devo dire che fu un vero investimento. La naturalezza del suono di questa cuffia fu la prima cosa che mi colpì. Nelle concorrenti cera sempre qualcosa nel loro suono che si faceva notare mentre quando indossavo questa notavo solo la musica. Con gli anni non ho mai smesso di godere del piacere di ascoltare tanta musica senza mai stancarmi. Per hobby faccio il dj e quindi possiedo altre cuffie tra le quali una ottima Audio-Technica ATH-M50s ideale per alcuni lavori in virtù della sua robustezza e del fatto che è una cuffia chiusa ma sotto il profilo della fedeltà sonora e della comodità non può competere con la Sennheiser HD 600. Con gli anni la cara vecchia Sennheiser incominciava a mostrare i segni del tempo e così non appena ho visto lofferta con sconto del 30% su Amazon non ci ho pensato due volte: ne ho subito acquistata una nuova e così per altri 20 anni alla cuffia non ci penso più!

I knew what I was in for, and honestly I shouldnt have bought them. Because these headphones arent for me. But I have the shp 9500s and I was looking to upgrade from them. Honestly, I like the sound of my shp 9500s more than these. These are what some people call neutral, but to me the highs sound veiled. Overall, the sound just kind of sounds distant from my head (highs and vocals) and a little boxed in. Personally, I prefer some high end sparkle. These headphones did make me realize what soundstage is. And honestly, I also prefer the shp 9500s for being more intimate. These make the sounds come further from your head, but it isnt magical. It doesnt make things sound more 3d. Just.. honestly sounds more distant. Listening to my shp 9500s after these, does make me realize a few flaws with them. They do have some treble peaks that are a bit fatiguing after a while, but Ive gotten used to their sound signature, I like my ears to hurt a bit while I listen to music. Also, the shp 9500s have that treble grain, but thats the only reason why Im looking to upgrade from them. Also would be nice to have bass that doesnt roll off. Which both these headphones have that problem. Audiophiles say that you dont need that deep bass, but that is just simply not true. You have to be kidding yourself if you think bass isnt important to music.

These headphones were a major improvement over my last array of subpar headphones. The HD600s are extremely detailed and feel much more open than my other closed back headphones. I am using this with the Fiio BTR-5 at the moment, it sounds great out of it despite not being directly supported by the product. I am planning on getting a more suited piece of equipment for the HD600s (amp/dac) at some point. But the HD600s already sounds great out of the fiio Btr5. If you dont listen to super bassy music, and you want to get more out of your music, I would highly recommend the HD600s, with the right AMP/DAC of course. These headphones make music just sound cleaner, there is more detail and it sounds like the music has been deeply cleaned in a sense. Its like when you clean a dirty piece of glass that was kind of hard to see through and once you cleaned it you could see so clearly through it.
