Sennheiser HD 650 - Audiophile Hi-Res Open Back Dynamic Headphone

The reference pair of cans to have. The dynamic range and tone is wonderful and having commercially used within studio they have never let me down yet. How reference cans should be. Beautiful presentation box too. No plastic or blister pack here. A+

PEOPLE These are Profesional headphones!!! Great headphones but you ll need an AMP If you dont have the an AMP its not going to sound good

These headphones are my first open-back headphones and they are unbelievable. Listen to your favorite song and do an A/B between these and what you are used to listening to. You will be blown away by the difference in detail, presence, and clarity. The bass is pretty good, but if youre looking for headphones to rock your head with sub-frequencies Id look elsewhere.

They are first class cans. Pros: they provide a round, balanced sound with exceptional bass. Extremely comfortable. Cons: the sound is too round, that means they lack a bit of detail in the top spectrum and the soundstage is not very open or precise. They reproduce very well pop/rock as well as jazz piano trios. Excellent reproduction of piano and drums as well. For classical music I prefer AKGs 701 because of their unsurpassed soundstage and the impressive rendition of detail. The AKGs are not very strong on drums and piano, though. So I ended buying both (this option would be too expensive for speakers of this quality). I use AKGs for some recordings and the 650s for other recordings.

I was really disappointed that a pair of $315 headphones especially for mixing because of the open back you can hear all of the noise unless you have around proof apartment. I have a pair of AKG 240 KII that cost $120 and a pair of KRK KNS-8400 $125 that are incredable and a pair of Young Guru for $260 that put these to shame, I was really surprised these are Sennheisers

Absolutely phenomenal, some of the most stunning headphones Ive had the pleasure of using.
