What a Gem!
> 3 daySo I was told by several people how much they loved their robotic vacuums. I had a hard time believing they were that great. Ive been using an ancient rainbow vacuum which works great for my chocolate labs hair which is everywhere. But its a pain to take out and fill up with water and then empty. Which I did almost every day. So I finally broke down and we bought this one and oh how wonderful it works! I cannot believe how much human hair and dog hair it picks up. The self-emptying into the base is so cool! I empty the base about once a week to 10 days and its full! The mop does a fair job but its not like getting down on your hands and knees and scrubbing. But its great for just everyday touch ups. The Ultra clean is awesome as well. Im glad I went with this one and spent the extra money. The ability to start it up on an app when we are away from home is awesome. Its so cool to come home to freshly vacuumed carpets. It feels like a cleaning lady was in the house. :) We have it scheduled daily to start up at 7:00 a.m. Our dog just ignores it and walks away from it. Hes not frightened by it nor does it want to mess with it. Super satisfied!

> 3 dayI had to return the robot because every time it went back to its base station, a burnt/smoky smell would come out and linger for hours. Besides that: Cons: 1. Alexa integration is not great. I say ask shark to ..., it always asks which robot, mostly two times. I only have one robot (!). Also when I say ask shark to clean the kitchen, it asks which robot and then says ok shark is cleaning the kitchen now. But then it goes on to clean everywhere. You have to get on to the app to get it to do anything. 2. return to station to charge makes the robot go back to the base too prematurely. There is still 40% charge when the robot decides to go back to charge. If it didnt, it could actually finish cleaning my apartment on a single charge. Not letting the battery go below 40% is bad for battery life. 3. It sometimes goes around the same area more than once, as if it is obsessed with it. I dont understand why. 4. It doesnt detect short objects and it goes at anything on the floor. So you cannot forget phone cables etc. lying around. Pros: 1. It doesnt easily get stuck and it usually finds its way back to the station. 2. The empty station is very convenient. 3. I dont think it has a very good suction power but since it doesnt get stuck and it can clean everyday without your intervention, I think it does a good job keeping the floors clean. Too bad I had to return for the burnt smell. Maybe I got a faulty unit but I wont risk buying another one.

> 3 dayThis robot arrived a few days ago and I promptly set it up. It had no problem connecting to my eero mesh wifi, which supports 2.4 ghz as well as higher bands. The app setup was easy, and it did a good job mapping the floor. Then I sent it off to clean. The first time through I had to manually pull out all the hair and dust that it accumulated, despite using the setting to evacuate and resume which is supposed to empty itself more frequently. After that it has empted itself fine, and collected a TON of debris. One issue with the robot itself, I picked this model because the self cleaning brushroll was supposed to avoid getting tangled with hair, which is the bane of my existence with my upright vacuum. But no, I have to manually remove hair from the brushroll. Fortunately this is fairly easy to do. Other issue is with the app. There is an extended clean setting where it is supposed to just keep going and going until it has to recharge itself. But this setting would not turn on. I contacted support and they said they would have to perform a firmware update. This happened automagically and the next afternoon the setting worked fine. I wish there was a simple option to relocate the dock in case we decide to move it, but it appears that I will have to delete the map and run through the explore cycle again to do so. I think it is very dumb that you cant map multiple floors with different home locations if you want to relocate the dock to another floor and have it focus on that floor for a day or so. I put it in my basement but the layout is very different and it will clean awhile but eventually get lost. Also that carpet is pretty new and theres a lot of carpet fibers that need to be vacuumed, and it keeps getting clogged and the brushroll is covered in hair and carpet. Once I go through it a few times it should be easy to maintain, but its a pain to start, especially without an accurate map. Why not give the ability to map different floors? Seems like a reasonable feature to add. Overall giving it 4/5 because of the issues noted above, but it seems to work very well and the self-emptying feature is pretty great.

> 3 dayHaving to use two canes it is difficult to use a regular vacuum. Now I just tell Hazel to do it for me. She does a good job. I havent tried her with Alexa yet but will soon. I highly recommend the Shark AI based on value.

> 3 dayThis has definite improvements in navigation from the older models. This robot goes right to the correct room to vacuum without bouncing off walls and furniture. It is louder than the older model.

> 3 dayI hace been using my shark for months. It works great and it saves me so much time. It cleans well. It makes less noise than my old vacuum cleaner but there is some noise. Not a big deal for me. I love that it saves me time and allows me to keep up with the dog hair. I will definitely buy another one for the first level of the house so I don’t have to move it from second floor to the first.

> 3 dayIve been using our Shark AV2501AE for a little over a year. My home is mostly hard wood floors, with one carpeted bedroom. While it seems to clean very well on the carpet, it needs to be put into maximum suction mode to be very effective on the wood floors. This causes the battery to deplete faster which usually requires it have to return to charge before finishing all the rooms. I should also note that it makes fairly slow progression from room to room. If youre not home while its working, it wont bother you. I work from home, so I notice how long it takes. In our home, the first floor is around 1,800 sq/ft. It makes two trips with a charge in between. The total time vacuuming is around 2 hours. Here are the pros/cons that Ive experienced: PROS It attempts to get every inch of floor, so its pretty thorough when it works. You dont have to vacuum yourself. Self-emptying bin at the base is great! Bin is easy to empty as well. CONS The app has frequently lost the map of the floorplan, the room border designations or both (customer service had me factory reset the vacuum and reinstall app, but it still happens). It isnt able to clean corners very well or wall edges that have cabinet overhangs. It frequently gets stuck and needs assistance to keep moving. Sometimes it leaves random areas of rooms uncleaned. It picks up hair it gets wound around the spinning brush. You have to unscrew the cover plate and remove the hair from the end of the cylinder brush where it builds up (just human hair here - no pets) I end up using a broom to pull out debris from hard to reach corners and under cabinet edges so the Shark can vacuum them. I also move rugs and obstacles out of the way so that it wont snag on them or get turned around and lose track of where it is. If I wasnt here at the house to baby it, it would be very frustrating. The sad truth is that if I just swept and vacuumed myself, I would finish in less than half the time this Shark takes. If you want something you can just schedule to vacuum and forget while youre at work, I would look elsewhere.

> 3 dayWe had a GOOVI brand before and it was ok for the price but it wasn’t nearly as smart as this one. The GOOVI would just bounce off things and walls sometimes bumping plants into walls and scuffing the walls. This one mapped the house pretty well. I had to kinda staple up the fabric hanging down from the couch for it to map under it but overall it’s pretty great. It knows exactly where it’s home is. The GOOVI just bounced off everything till it found it’s way. The fact that it knows when it’s full and goes back to the dock to empty is amazing. Before I would have the check the GOOVI like a baby’s diaper all the time. Overall have had it for a few days and so far so good!

> 3 dayI chose this to replace my less smart random motion robot. I wanted something a little more organized and with good suction for my carpet. This guy (“Wall-E”) made a pretty great map his first run. I was worried because a lot of reviews said he never does a good job on their map. I followed the setup instructions and he made a full “checking the scene out” run without having to be recharged and the map is accurate. Wall-e does tend to get stuck on things and shut down which is annoying when I’m at work and can’t do anything about it until he’s fully dead. At least he shuts himself down and doesn’t hurt himself trying to get free. But it’s my fault for not picking little things up. keep his path clear and he will do a great job for you. He does a great job on my carpet and wood floors. No problems with rugs. He doesn’t like my sliding glass door trays but he can navigate them ok just gets a little hung up. The emptying mechanism is great. Loud for any night-time use but I don’t use it at night anyway. I’ve done specific rooms once and it worked for me (other reviews were negative on this feature) but I think that has to do with the map. If the map isn’t right then it won’t work. No complaints with the battery life I haven’t really timed it out but my 2800 sq ft house can be done with maybe 1-2 battery charges and it takes a few hours. I would buy this again and recommend it to my family looking for one.

> 3 dayBought this for the mop and the ability to only mop one room. I use the vacuum part mostly but there are so many vacuums out there I don’t know why you’d be looking at this one if not for the mop. It does a good job of basic, wipe away the kid and dog mess from my white floors, kind of clean. It replaces the need for me to do a quick spray mop clean, which is exactly what I wanted and expected. There is a tougher clean option but I haven’t used that enough yet. Annoying things: the only way to cancel a clean in the middle of it is to send it to the dock, self-empty is pretty loud, you can’t schedule it for different cleans (particular rooms), only time and day.
