I feel like it’s made out of quality steel, and properly mounted it will do exactly as it’s designed to.

I bought this rack unit because Ive started to get some new gear for my personal music/recording studio. I currently have an Avid Eleven Rack and a BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer as rack-mount effects. Let me say this unit is a beast and sturdy as a tank. As shown in the pics, it holds my rack FX perfectly with three additional spaces leftover (the 11 Rack uses 2 spaces all by itself) and still has plenty of room to hold my old Mac Mini and my Behringer audio interface (U-Phoria UMC204HD). The top is open, but I found a perfectly sized spare shelf I had to place my HD monitor on top of the whole setup. The rack unit comes with the stabilizer bar already assembled and everything ready to go. In the fairly large box it came in I received the rack unit, a one-page instruction manual in a plastic binder sleeve, and all the necessary accessories bubble-wrapped and zip-tied to the unit itself. Everything I needed, in other words—with plenty of space for cord management and airflow in the back of the unit. Included are enough rack screws, clip nuts, and washers to install 3 or 4 rack-mount effects. It would be nice if they also included enough for the rest of the units shelf space (6 rack FX in all), but its definitely not a deal-breaker and not worth the removal of a star rating. If youre looking to get into rack-mounted FX for yourself, give this bad boy a try. You wont regret it.

Easy to install, lines up perfectly with my wall studs and is currently holding a dream machine pro, surge protector , a patch panel, and a shelf. Easy install and is holding about 25lbs of equipment.

The network cables in my apartment terminate an a fairly awkward spot for a desk or a shelf, but its a decent position for an end table. I bought this rack (and the LACK table from ikea if anyone else want to do something similar) for that purpose and it works very well. However, this 8U rack only comes with 6U worth of mounting hardware. I could not find that information in the text areas of the product page, but the last picture does say that only 24 sets of the nuts and bolts come with it. I have to take one star off because the BOM should be prominently listed on the page. The product description says that the cage nuts and screws are included. In my opinion, a reasonable interpretation of that is when buying an 8U rack with included hardware, the product would include 8U worth of hardware. Its not necessarily a deal breaker, I just think that the count of hardware should be explicitly stated in the product description if you are only going to receive 75% of what could be reasonably expected. But like I said, not a deal breaker in my case because this project is planned to take a few months and I only have 6U worth of devices anyway. But that is just my specific situation. Tl; dr: Please keep in mind, you will only be able to mount 6, 1U devices in this 8U rack without buying additional hardware. Thats a product page issue, but the product itself is exactly as advertised.

Does what its supposed to do. However, only enough hardware is included to mount three units. What a shame, otherwise good for what it is.

Works well and was as described. I am knocking off a star because of two issues. The first is they didnt give enough screws and clips for all the holes. I got 8 sets yet this is a 6U requiring 12 sets to fully populate. REALLY. For the cost of 4 screws and 4 clips they short you. Just charge an extra 1.00. The second is that the metal is just a touch flimsy. Not bad and after mounting it is solid but prior to mounting the rack can be twisted. All in all Im happy.

This is a very well made and priced rack. The only negative is one week after mounting it using the included mounting hardware in drywall it fell off the wall at 1:30AM!! Looking at the mounts the plastic Anchors actually broke (never seen that before), and there was less than 10lbs on the rack ( only three slots were used). Buy, but use different wall mounting anchors!!

So far I am really pleased with this patch panel. The looks are pretty good. It is a nice black and the paint quality seems like itll be free from chips and easy to clean. The installation was really easy. The included instructions have a drill template which lined up perfectly with the wall studs. I was left feeling confident this patch panel was not going to fall off the wall. Im really glad I went with the 8U panel. It was not that much more and it allowed more breathing room for my equipment. One feature I wish this panel had was something to allow for cable management. Perhaps some mounting options to hide long cords and such. I paired this panel with a StarTech 1U vented shelf. I like the resulting look and functionality. I with StarTech made a 2U shelf that was the appropriate depth. Their existing 2U shelf is too deep for this panel. Overall I am very pleased with this panel. I would definitely purchase again.

Writing this review a year and a half later. The rack itself is great! It has help up just fine. Ive upgraded my equipment a couple of times now -- and both times when Ive done so and rearranged things, at least one of the screws has locked itself into the cage nut upon reinsertion and mangled its threads, ruining both. Both times, Ive had to take everything out of the rack, use pliers and a screwdriver and forcible remove them. A real pain. Perhaps Im doing something wrong? Idk. Its just a screw.... and Im definitely not over-torqueing it and it shouldnt be this easy to cross-thread, if thats whats happening. Anyway a few pieces of my equipment came with their own cage nuts and those ones havent given me any trouble.

The reviews for this product seem to be mixed, but theyre not all for the exact same product. This review is for the 6U product. Its pretty study especially with the top brace; it can be moved to the bottom if necessary. Brace protrudes into the rack unit immediately adjacent; youll probably want to remove it if you plan to install anything other than a patch panel in that rack unit. Sturdy especially with the brace. 16 inches on center. Doesnt come with enough cage nuts and screws. In the box was only 12 cage nuts and screws (enough for 3 devices).

The 6U 12 inch deep wall mounting bracket for patch panels delivers a sturdy and dependable equipment storage option, allowing you to wall mount data/IT equipment for a more efficient and accessible operating environment.
